From One Conservative to All the Rest

Following the remarkable victory by Republicans over Democrats Tuesday in virtually every important respect, many of the people I've talked to on the right are now saying that it's time to show liberals how conservatives win an election--by being forgiving and gracious in victory. We need unity now, they claim, and it's up to us to set the example for others to follow in the future.

Sounds nice, doesn't it? All warm and fuzzy and soft and sweet. I'm quite certain that the folks who feel that way have made their mothers very proud. I mean, with that sort of attitude, one would probably have a good chance of being crowned Miss Congeniality in any major beauty pageant in the country. Unfortunately, right now we're not dealing with a panel of frivolous contest judges, who are just as concerned with our pretty smiles and cheerful dispositions as they are with our political beliefs.

No, we are dealing with the same vicious creeps we've had to contend with since long before Dubya became president the first time around, and if you think that turning the other cheek at this stage in the game is going to win the hearts and minds of even a handful of these people, you clearly haven't been paying a lot of attention to them over the years.

I don't know about any other member of the ''vast right-wing conspiracy,'' but I have no intention of being gracious or forgiving toward the habitual whiners, terrorist appeasers, and communist sympathizers who have mocked our president, degraded the efforts of our troops, and perverted the truth about practically everything from the economy to the war--since the day that Howard Dean became the presumptive presidential front-runner of the Democratic Party.

Ah, but it's the moderates we are trying to impress with our class and calm demeanors, some right-wingers assert. We need to make sure that everyone who might possibly side with us in the future doesn't get turned off to our causes because we've behaved like a bunch of meanies toward all those poor, unfortunate liberals out there. Can't we all just--sniff, sniff--get along?

Well excuse me if I happen to think that bending over and waiting for the leftist media machine to stick the knife in the back and break it off yet again is too freakin' naive for words! If you want to concern yourself primarily with how you assume the moderate middle in this country feels, so be it. You have every right to do so.

Heck, it's not like I have something against moderates. As a matter of fact, most of my friends are moderates, and I happen to think that there's a whole lot more of them out there than most conservatives are willing to admit to.

That having been said, any moderate who would necessarily side with a leftist over me during an ideological fight, simply because I don't feel compelled to sit around and wait for my enemies to regroup and then kick the living crap out of me later, isn't someone I want hanging around to begin with. You see, there's a sincere difference between a political moderate and a total wussie, and why so many conservatives seem to be mistaking one for the other is beyond me.

As far as I can tell, a moderate is simply someone who's less conservative than I am, yet less liberal than most anyone you'd be likely to meet at a Hollywood party. Being in the middle doesn't make a person spineless, just as being on the right at this particular time in history doesn't make you bullet-proof.

And just in case you didn't know it, I'm here to tell you that being gracious in victory, while it may well be a truly honorable thing, is only appropriate when your opponents have exhibited the capacity to respond in that same spirit of good sportsmanship themselves throughout the competition. When they haven't, to heck with graciousness!

As far as I'm concerned, we've finally got the liberal left on the ropes, and there's no better time than now to deliver the knock-out punch. You may believe that going out of your way to treat liberals with respect right now is the right thing to do, but please don't delude yourself into thinking that, if the situation was reversed, they wouldn't do to us exactly what I am proposing we do to them.

If it was conservatism that suddenly found itself cornered and bloody, I can guarantee you that every liberal out there would be stepping up to take one more round-house swing at your head, and the concept of honor would be the last thing on his minds.

You say you want nice? Well I'm just as sorry as I can be, but right now, I'm all niced-out.

Two angles to this.....I do feel like wiping the floor with some of my liberal hollywood friends but I also must say that this is also a time to talk to a moderate or fence sitter and show how inclusive, positive and energized we really are.....We have a great vision and the more the merrier...Join the GRAND OLE PARTY!

Folks "on the right" suggested this course? To the right of WHAT--dialectic materialism? I have no problem with "reaching out"--with a closed fist.

I saw to hell with the left... we proved we can win without them, they stabbed are troops in the back tryed to make Iraq Vietnam and spit on President Bush. I say push everything conservative and tell them to bad. I dont mind being divided when I see who we are divided with

Here's how I've been handling it: Had a bunch of beers on Tuesday night. Wednesday after work I counterprotested an "anti-war" loser march and then went out and had a bunch of beers. Last night I was a little tired so I went to bed early. Tonight, more beers. It's working out great so far!

I try to avoid rubbing it in.

Forgive me, I have failed - about 20 times so far.

But what I will not tolerate is their spin that is starting already.

Then it is get in face time and explain just what the majority of the popular vote (biggest in rectent history) means, what the Republican gain - DEMOCRAT LOSS - of 5 Senate and 11 House seats mean.

You lost, loser (to quote Arhnold), America rejected your political platform. Get it!!!

I am so looking forward to this battle.

There is no way we can forgive them for what they have done since 2000 let alone the 60's. Their hate campaign this year alone should be enough to tell us never to reach out our hand, they will bite.

Had the roles been reversed, you would not have heard any thing about 'reaching out and healing'.

When Clinton won in 92 and all three branches were in Democrat hands, did the Democrats meet with the Republicans?

Did the MSM advocate that they do so?

Clinton did not even invite the GOP leaders over after the election.

He was going to go with the Democrats and ignore the Republicans.

He thought he could drive his programs through without any Repubican support.

This is what unified the GOP against him and he did not get one single GOP vote for his tax increases.

The Democratic Party of the Clintons, Kerry, Kennedy, Daschle(ex) etc, deserve no respect nor no quarter.

I've listened to these traitorous SOB's try to destroy one of the most decent human beings we have ever had as President. I've watched them sow hatred, obstruction and fraud at every turn. I'v watched them show disrespect to the bravest fighting force in the world! I'm not in the mood to kiss and make up. Aside from a few democrats like Zell, Lieberman, Bayh, Breux and a few others they whole party can take a flying leap! They're just too dumb and arrogant to find out what most Americans are really like.

I don't believe in the Big Tent, I hate the Rat party, I rub our Victory of MY party in their faces at every opertunity. Then again my few liberal friends expect that from me.

We have to do what's necessary to have peace. Not out of malice, but out of desire to see this country coninue to prosper. The left, hate-America crowd,and the msm's darkness is like a cancer threatening the whole country. We must defend ourselves and the values this country is based on (for our children's sake). Seems like the left has been the ones who've chosen the "it's them or us" attitude - not us IMHO. So be it.

Too many moderates aren't really "moderates" at all. They are conservatives who have been brainwashed by the left to the point where they've begun to doubt their own common sense. It is encumbent upon true conservatives to let them know it's OK to feel this way and it's OK to tell the left to stuff it!
