It's intriguing in the sense that the elites running the Left have somehow managed to confuse being "published" with being hip, with being hip meaning "smart," and they've further confused all disagreement to their views as being unintelligent.
The net result is that the modern Left exudes arrogance, openly disdains the majority of the U.S., and thinks that everything that they say is worthy of genius.
Or put another way, I agree with your above comment that the current Left is certain to keep the Right in power for some great time to come.
