Many Democrats are scratching their heads today asking how can this be? They were so sure this one was in the bag. Maybe I can help answer that question. The largest and most obvious problem I see is you didn't choose a man with vision, you chose a negative idea and attached a candidate to it. Then with an unrelentless attack, you tried to convince America that she was a bad country with a bad leader. You didn't accomplish that but what you did do is spew so much propoganda out that you actually started to believe it yourself. This morning when you woke up you realized that the majority of the country didn't fall for the lies.

I know it hasn't sunk in yet, even for many Republicans, but what you just witnessed was a landslide victory. That's not true you say? Let me explain. This President has been faced with almost 4 full years of adversity. He was accused of stealing the election, faced the worst attack on American soil in 150 years, a recession, a War unlike any we have faced before and continual and non-stop personal attacks. Through all this he stood his ground and faced the lions. That my friends is called character.

If you have not figured it out by now here it is in a nutshell. We voted for a man and ideals we believe in. We voted for an America we believe in. We voted for our brave soldiers who we believe in. We voted for a Flag we are proud to wave. The United States of America won this election.

God Bless America

I told my husband this afternoon that it had not really sunk in, at least for me.

The international implications are huge. George Bush with the overwhelming mandate of this election, will be in a position of strength diplomatically. Up until now, the Europeans felt about Bush the same way the Dems portrayed him, as an illegitimate President, but they can't feel that way anymore. My bet is they'll get a lot more cooperative now.

And the Dems, well I expect them to be just as contentious as they've always been, but what they're risking, if that happens, is the Republicans completely taking over the Senate (adding 5 more seats) in the midterms (because they can't claim that the incumbent's party won't gain seats after 2002).

The political and international power that Bush now holds, because of the backing and faith of the American people, is huge.

And the most enjoyable part is that for the past year (for all his term really, but especially the past year) the Dems have thrown everything they have at the man. Films (9/11), books, investigations (9/11), MSM negativity, Iraq issues (WMD, prison scandle, missing explosives), huge amounts of money (Soros), protestors, forgeries in order to question his service, etc., and they still lost. Can you imagine the frustration they're feeling? (and doesn't it just warm your heart, LOL)

On election day, I talked to two friends of mine who are pretty hardcore Democrats.

Neither of them voted, because they didn't like Kerry.

I think there was a lot of that going around.

I think your right....I had a Democrat customer of mine say something funny to me on election day. He went on and on about how Bush would bring back the draft and how wrong the war was and a bunch of other Dem talking points. After this whole tirade he tells me..." but I am voting for Bush. "

I think that person was pretty un-informed, but that's not the way the majority of the Bush voters selected their candidate.

Very few Libs thought Kerry would win actually. The poll internals showed this some time ago. The real question Libs have to ask is how did they get bamboozled into nominating an almost sure loser. John Kerry was an elitists elitist, an absolute zero in the Senate and completely unlikable. Truth be told Dick Gephardt and Joe Lieberman deserved to be the dem candidate because they ACTUALLY HAVE DONE SOMETHING while serving in Congress. The Johns couldn't fill a double spaced page with their public service accomplishments.

Personally I am really beginning to believe that the Clintons were behind this disaster from the start.

Whats happened...?
Bush is on trial.. With congress in an almost perfect state for REAL change for the better... lets what hes does..

Actually the whole republican party is on trail.. The responsibility to DO SOMETHING is on them.. Whining about democrats will echo LAME.... Nows the time for statesmen not fingers in the wind.. Example ... "line item veto for the Prez..".. Then ALL pork can be laid at his doorstep.. did I say responsibility ?.. Ah! yes I did..

I'm disappointed at how seriously people took those draft rumors.

If you've read anything about today's military you know a draft just would not work. The generals would hate it, the soldiers would hate it and the draftees would hate it. It would destroy morale.

It's a pity that people on the left distrust the military so much that they ignore even their most blatantly honest statements.

This is an excellent point. The Republicans have been seated in a perfect position to really accomplish a lot. We have a President who can focus on running the country for a full 4 years without the diversion of a campaign. I think it's true that most of us want to see them use this power to get things on the right track.
