Moments from the Presidential Campaign

Posted on 11/03/2004 12:51:53 PM PST by Ultra Sonic

It is over.

The race has been waged. The competitors have fought through the polls. The incumbent Bush has been declared victor, and Kerry has conceded victory to the President (which I think is a classy act, especially considering this is Kerry we're speaking of).

Now that the tough months of the campaign are behind us, we can use this time to reflect.

We can recall some of our favorite moments in the campaign (like the speeches at the RNC).

We can recall moments that made us squirm (the last Democrat ads before Election Day).

We can recall moments that made us scratch our heads out of confusion...or just burst out laughing (Howard Dean's infamous 'HEEEEAAAHHH!!!', which sent his hopes for becoming the Democratic candidate down the drain).

All I'm asking are your opinions on the matter.

So...what are YOUR most memorable (good or bad) moments from the 2004 Presidential Campaign?

TOPICS: Constitution/Conservatism; Government; News/Current Events; Political Humor/Cartoons; Politics/Elections; Your Opinion/Questions
KEYWORDS: bush; campaign; election; favorite; republican; rnc
Here are my most memorable (in no particular order).

1) CA Governor Schwarzenegger's Speech at the RNC: Ah-nold lit the crowds on fire with this speech, which involved the politically INcorrect use of the word 'girlymen'.

2) Senator Zell Miller's Speech at the RNC: Miller's passionate speech - which involved the word 'spitballs' - coined the term 'Mad as Zell' all over the internet.

3) Howard Dean's 'HEEEEAAAAAH!!!': Do I have to say anything?

4) The night of the Election: Did anyone get ANY sleep last night?

When they asked W how he could possibly spend all that money on a re-election and he replied 'just watch me.'

(And now I get to drop my tagline finally!)

The strangest moment was watching New Mexico go from 99 to 101 to 103% of precincts reporting then back to 98,99 where it still sits today and they STILL haven't called it for Bush. What kind of third world banana republic is Richardson runing there anyway?
