BIBLE VERSES:

ABOUT A NATION
“A nation without God's guidance is a nation without order. Happy are those who keep God's law!” Proverbs 29:18 (Today’s English Version)

“A nation will prosper when its ruler is mature, and its leaders don't party too much.” Ecclesiastes. 10:17 (Contemporary English Version)

“When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily; but with honest, sensible leaders there is stability.” Proverbs 28:2 (The Living Bible)

ABOUT LEADERSHIP
“Without wise leadership, a nation falls; with many counselors, there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14 (New Living Translation)

“Leadership gains authority and respect when the voiceless poor are treated fairly.” Proverbs 29:14 (The Message Translation)

“Good leaders abhor wrongdoing of all kinds; sound leadership has a moral foundation.” Proverbs 16:12 (The Message Translation)

“A leader of good judgment gives stability.” Proverbs 29:4 (The Message Translation)

“It's the men who walk straight who will settle this land, the women with integrity who will last here.” Proverbs 2:21 (The Message Translation)

“When good people run things, everyone is glad.” Proverbs 29:2 (The Message Translation)

ABOUT BEING GOOD CITIZENS
“Makes Jesus your Lord proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God's emissaries for keeping order. It is God's will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of fools... Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government.” 1 Peter 2:13-17 (The Message Translation)

“Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it's God's order. So live responsibly as a citizen.” Romans 13:1 (The Message Translation)

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chron. 7:14 (New International Version)

“A nation will prosper when its ruler is mature, and its leaders don't party too much.” Ecclesiastes. 10:17 (Contemporary English Version)

That should be:

“A nation will prosper when its ruler is mature, and the head dudes don't party too much.” Ecclesiastes. 10:17 (Contemporary English Version)

King James Version:

Ecclesiastes 10:17: Blessed [art] thou, O land, when thy king [is] the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!

NASB:

"Blessed are you, O land, whose king is of nobility and whose princes eat at the appropriate time--for strength and not for drunkenness."

Next thing you know we'll hear from the Gender-neutral version. I've always wondered how that version would translate Proverbs 21:9

Thank you for putting together this list of inspirational verses. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. May He protect our president and defend our country from enemies foreign and domestic.

"...its leaders don't party too much"?

Oh Good GRIEF

here is the NIV version.

Ecclesiastes 10: 17 Blessed are you, O land whose king is of noble birth and whose princes eat at a proper time- for strength and not for drunkenness.

This is the modern Message Version

Ecclesiastes 10 17Lucky the land whose king is mature, Where the princes behave themselves And don't drink themselves silly. [JC]

Years ago there were billboards all around Florida that said in BIG letters: Pray for President Clinton. Then it had a scripture reference. When you looked it up it was a prayer for God to make the days in office of a certain ruler as short as possible, and to deliver the people from his rule! Great signs. Any idea what scripture verse that was? I think it was from Psalms.
