GIULIANI: VOTE FRAUD COST ME FIRST ELECTION
Newsmax ^ | 11/2/04

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Tuesday that he knows from personal experience how important it is to have an ample cadre of poll watchers monitoring polling places - since vote fraud scuttled his first bid to become mayor in 1989.

Commenting on Election Day reports that Philadelphia voting machines were found to be stuffed with thousands of ballots before the polls opened, Giuliani said: "It happened to me in 1989."

The Republican mayor told WABC Radio's John Gambling that at the time his advisors had calculated he'd need 50,000 to 75,000 extra votes just to compensate for Democratic Party fraud in New York City.

When he lost the race by just 42,000 votes, he said, "We had all sorts of claims of voter irregularities."

"There were machines that already had hundreds of votes on them," he explained. "When they open that machine - if you don't have your poll watcher there to look at the back of it, you could start off the election in that district down 100 votes, down 200 votes, down 300 votes."

In his case, Giuliani said, "I followed the rule that I believe is the best, which is, you don't contest these things in court."

But the next time he ran in 1993, he organized a voter integrity effort.

"We got thousands and thousands of people to be poll watchers," he told Gambling. "And they told me lots of stories of buses that showed up with people that were intending to vote the names of people whose names were in the books that were dead or people who had moved out of the district."

Of Democrat opposition to poll watchers in key battleground states this year, Giuliani said his experience shows, "Of course you need poll watchers."

I remember. NYC got David Dinkens, who was less than worthless.

Listen to Rudy. He knows what he's talking about. Take all the claims about fraud in Philly as the truth. This needs to be scrutinized closely. Voter fraud is the central issue in this election. Don't listen to the Dem. spin about how the voter fraud is non-existent.

If we save this election then that would be great. Otherwise, at least VOTE FRAUD becoming a mainstream issue is a GREAT thing and would help us in future for sure.

Vote Fraud is the ONLY reason W would not carry MI and PA. If it was not for VOTE FRAUD he would have carried them last time as well as this time.

WRONG Rhudypoot. The best rule is ZERO TOLERANCE for VOTER FRAUD.

The GOP had better get with it - fraud is the only thing keeping the leftwing in the game.

Note that Guiliani followed the precedent of Nixon and other candidates who chose not to challenge the election despite having lots of legitimate complaints. Only a low life like Al Gore would put the country through a trauma for his own ego.

I think Rudy learned his lesson from this one. I think that if he runs against Hillary for Senate he will be prepared BIG TIME!

This isn't just election day spin. The NYS GOP lawyers cited this in our training as poll watchers before the 2000 election. They created a whole new program to stop it after what happened to Giuliani in '89 and credited with the improved performance of Republicans (Pataki and Rudy '93) after that.

The Democrap mission is to find a 'COOK' county in every state.

Last time they stole WI and NM for sure.

Maybe Pubbie poll watchers are can save OHIO today.

If we hold what we won last time than due to Souther states picking up 14 extra EVs in last Census, even with New Hampshire lost, we would prevail.

But the evil party is desperate to a point where I think they would even resort to violence to steal Ohio.

The GOP better pull there collective heads out of their behinds and do something about this at the national level. I was hoping that the congress would do something after 2000. In this day of technology...there is no way this should be happening. If people don't want to show a pic id because they can't afford it (the dem talking points)...then I am all for a government program to give them a FREE one. I would LOVE my tax dollars to be spent enforcing the one person=one vote rule. It is the foundation of our democracy and what I fight for (being in the service for 17 years). We have to do something to stop this stuff...it souldn't be happening. We have the power...we just need to do it.

Moveon.org and United Auto Workers in Michigan are denying GOP voters from voting, so says Rush. Many valid names do not appear on their roster.

I know. Dinkens accelerated the rate of mayhem and degeneracy in NYC with his "Duh" style of running things. Rudy did miraculous things when he took office. Too bad there werte term limits.
