I know what the word decimate means Marshall.

Great pic! ;-)

Decimate vs Devastate is one of my pet peeves. They mean such vastly different things, and so many people use the words interchangeably. I didn't mean to offend, it's just one of those things that drives me nuts.

I was not offended. Actually it amuses and pleases me to see people discuss the language.

On the other hand, this entire election stuff is wearing me down. I was the same way four years ago, and frankly, I always get antsy during these times.

I do not mean to be getting too personal here but sometimes I just cannor help myself. My boy is heading back again to Iraq soon, and of course I fear for his safety.

A Kerry presidency is simply the worst thing that I can think of.

Sorry, I didn't know. My nephew is there now. He came home on leave about three months ago. It was great to see him, but it was pretty rough knowing that he was going back in. He is in a communications division, right in the middle of the Sunni triangle, a bit outside of camp Anaconda. He doesn't go on raids or anything, but they do get shelled. A lot.

I don't even want to think about what will happen if Kerry is elected.

Hey Marshall,

I spend most of My FReeper time in the Canteen.

Come on over some time. It is often a fun getaway from the discouraging news. I'll have Tonk or others ping ya if you are not familiar with the place.

I sent this to several friends, including liberal ones. Nobody could "Name that Country"

But when I told them, the libs were speechless. One mumbled something about Bush wasting the surplus. I said the surplus was from cutting the military. She changed the subject.

She is considering not voting (can't bring herself to vote for Bush).

'''If regular people knew the real devastation that the Clinton's and the democrats caused by cutting out the legs from underneath our Troops with their budget cuts, there would be an uproar of Biblical proportions.'''

I couldn't agree more.

Now..................how do we get the information to these regular people?

I get so frustrated!!!

But a bit of joy has lifted me today! I'm feeling more confident. First time in a long time I felt this way about an election!

You know........I have a lot of respect for you folks that have liberal friends. Or family.
I don't run across those kind of people.
I don't know if it's where we live or what!

My husband runs into a very few. And he travels all over the Southeast.

I am thankful!

I see them with their bumper stickers and have to keep "road rage" in check. But not ever talking with them.

Anyway, I will continue to pray for you folks that are on the battle fronts!

I read your homepage.
We all should learn something from our mistakes.
But sometimes I ignore the education and plow right through.

How did you injure yourself?

BTW Thank-you for your sacrificial service to our Country!
And for me!

I love our Military!

Maybe the word decimate has taken on a new meaning since the Roman Empire being used more as an exaggerated expression for a horrific reduction of something? I never knew that was what decimation was. They sure knew how to keep discipline. Thanks for the interesting history lesson.
