If regular people knew the real devastation that the Clinton's and the democrats caused by cutting out the legs from underneath our Troops with their budget cuts, there would be an uproar of Biblical proportions.
In my opinion, the worst thing that they have caused to the Army is the reduction in the number of Divisions which has resulted in an increase of individual deployments to hostile areas.
It is absolutely outrageous when certain Democrats claim to support the Troops after the damage they have wrought with their incredibly short sighted votes.
Their votes have resulted in the deaths of certain of our Troops, and yet they still have the unmitigated gall to justify themselves.
I am not fond of professional politicians, but most especially I despise the lying hypocritical Democrat members of both houses of Congress.
Killing 8 Divisions out of 18 is more than 10 percent!

EXCELLENT POSTING! If the 9/11 Commission was really bipartisan, they would have pointed this out in their final report. But 'Rat minions on the panel wouldn't allow it in an election year, knowing it would lead to a Republican landslide in 2004.
Bill Clinton's (anti)defense policies did more than weaken America's military strength and national security. His actions, with John F'n Kerry's support, contributed to the destruction of the Twin Towers in NYC on September 11, 2001.
The more amazing is that Clinton and his team economic gurus still managed to run the economy into the ground and orchestrated the 1929-scale stock market crash.
If they were killed. They weren't. And decimated does NOT mean 10%. It means EXACTLY 10 out of EXACTLY 100. Not 9 out of 90, or 1 out of 10. Decimation was a unit punishment. If a century was to be decimated, and they were not up to strength, they would be brought up to strength and decimated. Pity the poor soldiers that got THAT transfer!
They would count off by tens. The centurion would call a number to step forward. The man to his right (or left) would be ordered to kill the man who stepped forward. THAT is decimation, and it has NEVER been done in modern times.
And under Clinton admin Justice Department was more concerned with pursuing any man,woman,and child that had both gun and bible while ignoring terrorist threats. This will return under Kerry.
I know what the word decimate means Marshall. I think that the real point of the title of the thread is that Clinton and his programs had a profound impact on the Military. During Clinton's tenure There were cutbacks and a reduction in Military forces. More butter less guns!
The lesson that the USA was supposed to have learned more than 60 years ago was apparently once again forgotten. The office of the President is mainly Commander in Chief. Certainly there are other functions as well, but when it comes down to the root of things, it is about protecting us. That is accomplished by utilizing the Military usually. Clinton failed miserably in that he emasculated (for lack of a better term) our Military. Today's Troops are paying for his decisions (and Kerry's and the democrats), and some have paid with their very lives.
I do not like to debate over semantics because frankly, I am not very good at it.
Amen to that! I was in the Navy during Carter's reign of terror. I was in the Indian Ocean on a Destroyer in '81, before Reagan's appropriations came in. I was an Electronic Warfare Technician. We had no spare parts at all. We were scavenging boom boxes for components to keep our equipment running.
The high-speed roller bearings on our main antennae wore out. We couldn't beg, borrow, or steal one. We had to have the Hull Techs turn us some bronze bushings on a lathe. It cut our direction-finding accuracy by over 200%. They only lasted about two weeks. We had to go aloft while underway to replace them, which required shutting down numbers one and two firerooms and turning into the wind. This severely endangered the ship while we were replacing the bearings.
The power supplies for our jammers broke down. We were supposed to have one for port, one for starboard, and one spare. We had one, period. We could cross-over the power supplies, but if we were hit from both sides...
The really sick thing is that what Carter did to our military was child's play compared to what that traitor Clinton did.
