No. The American companies would have no trouble producing the product and doing the job.

Rest assured that others will be pursuing issues such as this after the election.
We are facing the prospect of a lame duck congress...a body where all sorts of special interest bills and pork get passed.
The power of blog sites such as this one can play a big role.

Weird then. NAFTA covers Canada too, right? Maybe it's just that the odds have to equally favor a Canadian company by law. Perhaps because of NAFTA it's illegal for the US government to count Canadian ungratefulness against Canadian companies.

Click on the video. Pretty darn cool. That being said, if the quality was the same, they should have gone with an American company.

When NAFTA gets mixed in with government and even defense procurements we are heading into problem areas.

When NAFTA gets mixed in with government and even defense procurements I think that by definition NAFTA includes those things.

Educate me then...I thought the trade agreement pertained to non-military, ie commercial type goods and services.
We dont trade defense equipment with Mexico, for example, or do we?

I don't know all the details...I just though that NAFTA opened up a lot of that stuff...very not-well-thought-out.
But I could be mistaken. If anyone knows the NAFTA angle to this story, I'd live to see it.

A side point. A Victoria, Canada man died in Iraq a few months ago. He was a security expert responsible for protecting GE execs. When militants attacked the GE car, he and his co-combatants drove their vehicle in between the line of fire and engaged the enemy. He was killed in the firefight. Man, it was great to be proud of a fellow Canadian. I realize he was making money, probably very good money for his services, but I certainly wouldn't have the balls to do that.

Could it be that this company has an established relationship with your Military and having been used before, has a known commodity?
To: NorthOf45
They have been in business far less time than the American companies.

I just read your tagline ... LOL.
To: Lord Nelson
I got it from author Andrew Breitbart who said it at the LIBERTY FILM FESTIVAL.
