The more accurate term is "acid precipitation."
Got that right. I'm up here in Canada and in the 80's acid rain from evil US factories was going to poison every lake in the Muskoka region and kill off every hardwood forest below them long before now if nothing was done. Nothing was done and there isn't one lake or tree you can point to and say 'acid rain did that', in fact you NEVER even hear anyone talk about it anymore.
