This is an important bill. Please forward this information to any Jewish friends you might have. President Bush has consistently supported Israel in it's fight on terrorism, and in the battle against anti-semitic acts that are occuring with more frequency throughout Europe.

From Noam Neusner, the White House liaison to the Jewish community.

Yesterday, President Bush signed the Global Anti-Semitism Review Act of 2004. This act, which passed the Congress with bipartisan support, obligates the Administration to keep a record of anti-Semitic acts throughout the world, and also a record of government response to those acts.

The signing of this law continues President Bush’s record of active and forceful denunciation of anti-Semitism in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and elsewhere.

· In 2001, President Bush ordered the U.S. delegation to walk out in protest from the World Conference Against Racism, because it had become a theater to demonize Jews and Israel.

· In both 2002 and 2003, to confront the growing problem of anti-Semitism in Europe, the United States led an effort in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to bring together more than 50 nations to acknowledge and confront this evil, and pledge to fight it.

The Bush Administration has supported and led efforts to protect the memory of the Holocaust from deniers, and to keep synagogues and Jewish cemeteries in Europe safe from desecration.

· President Bush has personally confronted world leaders who have given voice to anti-Semitic sentiments, and he has called for an end to Arab state media incitement of anti-Israel and anti-Semitic sentiments.

· President Bush also visited Auschwitz, where he called on European governments to confront growing signs of anti-Semitism.

· And President Bush has firmly pledged that Israel will have the full support of the American government as it struggles against terrorism and hatred to survive as a Jewish State.

These efforts are critical, because history has taught us that we must expose intolerance before it leads to crimes beyond imagining. Here are the president’s full comments on the law, which he made yesterday in Florida:

“I believe that millions in the Middle East plead in silence for their freedom. I believe women want to live in a free society. I believe that moms and dads want to raise their children in freedom and peace. I believe all these things, because freedom is not America's gift to the world, freedom is the Almighty God's gift to each man and woman in this world.

Extending freedom also means confronting the evil of anti-Semitism. Today I signed the Global Anti-Semitism Review Act of 2004. This law commits a government to keep a record of anti-Semitic acts throughout the world, and also a record of responses to those acts. This nation will keep watch; we will make sure that the ancient impulse of anti-Semitism never finds a home in the modern world.

For all Americans, these years in our history will always stand apart. There are quiet times in the life of a nation when little is expected of its leaders. This isn't one of those times. This is a time that requires firm resolve, clear vision, and a deep faith in the values that make us a great nation.”

Your headline makes it sound like he signed a bill that's anti-semetic.

Your headline makes it sound like he signed a bill that's anti-semetic.

Indeed! Is that the actual title of the article or did you make it up? The misleading title, in all-caps, made it look for a minute like you were a troll trying to post a disruptive missive. It might be a good idea to ask the moderator to change the title for you.

Sorry for the screw up in the headline.. hopefully
moderator will fix. As to the Jewish vote, I've spoken
with several Jewish friends, one of them a noted author and columnist, and he feels that the Jewish vote is going to be surprisingly strong for Bush..much more than anyone expects. He pegs it at 35 to 40%. Tells me that many Jews will not admit it in public but will vote Bush. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

The International Red Cross is in violation. Various universities in the US and abroad are in violation. Whole countries are in violation. I will enjoy watching the busts.
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent

The trick will be to make sure that the Arabists in the State Department don't reinterpret anti-Semitism to include Arabs, a common tactic of the more coy anti-Semites.
