For the most part, I support President Bushs handling of the war on terror and his domestic policy, but thats not the main reasons why I am voting for him.
My vote for President Bush is as much a vote in opposition to Sen. John Kerry. Specifically, it is the behavior of Kerry after he returned from four months in Vietnam that makes me angry.
Two days before President Bushs visit, I shared a "Bloomin Onion" at the Outback restaurant in west Lantana, Fla. with a neighbor, a retired police chief.
Jim Corr, now a resident of Palm Beach County, once arrested and handcuffed Kerry, jailed him overnight, and then threatened to put him back in the lockup for a second night.

> By plastic handcuffs, they could simply mean "zip-ties." They essentially do the same job.
The very strong wire-ties known as Ty-Raps were definitely available by 1975, so it's totally plausible that they existed in 1971. I believe Ty-Raps have been used as handcuffs.
PING
Now, I don't think that's very nice. You don't know anything about me. Please don't make assumptions about my age, sex, or ability to serve.
Thank you.
Kerry wanted to get arrested to get his face in the news.
Searched about 7 oral histories of the incident and never found anything on how they were restrained, so beats me.
A good example of this can be seen with Kerry's flip-flopping. The other day, I was debating this with an independant and she said, "Yeah, I'll acknowledge he's flipped-flopped some, but I'm still voting for him."
I replied, "The point about his flip-flopping is that you can't trust what he says. And if you can't trust what he says or the things he promises, WHAT ELSE CAN YOU VOTE FOR HIM ON??? Best hairstyle?"
"Oh," she says, "I never thought of it THAT way before."
Duh! This stuff seems so simple to us -- but many people (roughly half, apparently) out there can't reason through it and see beyond the surface to the implications of his actions.
Sure, if it's true, get it out there, definitely. But someone has to spell it out for the logic-challenged voters as to why it should mean anything to them.
thanks for the reply. next time you paraphrase me, please do not use the "sh*t" word, as i did not use it. if you want to use it under your own name, that is fine -- but please act with some class in the future when paraphrasing me.
you just proved my point. we need to spend our resources on exposing kerry as a poor leader today. dwelling on the past goes right over the heads of most of these fence leaning people. one - on - one debating, as you did, is still one of the best ammunition we have. showing ads of kerry with an upside down flag will merely cause these fence sitters to stand on their head.....
"Kerry's arrest is common knowledge. This is not a surprise.
However, the fact that he held the American flag upside down is....
That is huge."
I respectfully disagree. This is not huge to the people who are going to vote for Kerry or are leaning toward Kerry. Disrespect for the flag is nothing negative for the majority of them and is a positive for the rest.
"For contrast purposes, here in Austin, last year, 1350 University of Texas students were charged with DWI. UT student body: ~60,000."
That doesn't count. It was the same 26 people getting caught every week. ;>)
I disagree. Not every Kerry voter is some rabid commie. Some are decent Americans who just are taken in by his lies.
Sorry if it offended you, not my intention. Also, just for the record, I used "s*it" which could stand for "spit" if it helps any. ;)
G.I.Joe.
That's the pic! I knew somebody would have posted it. Thanks. :^)Too bad they couldn't have kept him in the cooler longer. Say, 30 years longer!
My thanks to BulletBobCo for the concept of this
pic and to Conspiracy Guy for the captions!
ping to you, in case you missed it.
Maybe he should have been in the Military????
"I know about the Vietnam War up front and personal. I visited the area during the war with my boss, former US Senator Jim Buckley....."
That is a strange statement isn't it? Of course I don't know the authors age but the wording doesn't seem quite right???? Up front and personal (to me) means you have a weapon in your hand and get the 'thrill' of someone trying to make you a statistic.
I wonder if they'd do the same today.
