SEVERAL SIMPLE ENDGAME SUGGESTIONS FOR PRESIDENT BUSH

In an effort to sweep the battleground states, John Kerry is using fearmongering demagoguery of the worst kind, especially about jobs and the draft and Iraq. He delivers it bluntly and directly.
You must eschew subtle comments, oblique arguments and the soft sell. These techniques come across as evasive and are less effective in penetrating the "undecided" mindset.
You must counter Kerry with equal bluntness. Speak bluntly about jobs and the draft and terror. Personalize it. Draw a sharp distinction with Kerry.
Make the following argument:
- Some of you who are employed today will lose your jobs under a Pres. Kerry.
Those of you looking for work will find getting a job harder under a Pres. Kerry.
Why? Because John Kerry will raise taxes on small businesses and small businesses employ 70% of America's workforce. (flesh out with S-corp argument) - I will not reinstitute the draft. Period. John Kerry is trying to manipulate your vote by suggesting otherwise.
The only people arguing for reinstituting the draft are DEMOCRATS.Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) and John Conyers (D-MI) proposed a bill to bring back the draft. Their proposed bill would have forced military or national service for both men and women aged 18-26, without exemptions for college or graduate studies, both changes from the earlier draft of older wars, including Vietnam.
The Republican-controlled congress DEFEATED THIS BILL.On the other hand, it is John Kerry who is proposing to increase our forces by two divisions. That proposal is consistent with a draft.

What is your position on the whole concept of preemptive war?
KERRY: The president always has the right, and always has had the right, for preemptive strike. That was a great doctrine throughout the Cold War. And it was always one of the things we argued about with respect to arms control....
But if and when you do it, Jim, you have to do it in a way that passes the test, that passes the global test where your countrymen, your people understand fully why you're doing what you're doing and you can prove to the world that you did it for legitimate reasons....

BUSH: Let me -- I'm not exactly sure what you mean, "passes the global test," you take preemptive action if you pass a global test.
My attitude is you take preemptive action in order to protect the American people, that you act in order to make this country secure.
