Best wishes on that speech.
Im having trouble reaching the emotional amongst us.
One of our Freepers lost a cousin in the green zone today.
And an aqaintence of mine and close friend of a close friend of mine is overthere now.
Kelly is really buying into the bring the troops home stuff.
I have to remind her that Jeremy feels strongly about serving.
She thinks that Jeremy joined for Afgahnistan and that Iriq is out of order (jeremy is in iraq)
I cant seem to make her understand that it is all the same effort.
You are a good friend to keep at it. *HUGS*
There is sooo much I wish I could put into words about our Military...For those who now serve, and those who have..
I am always worried that it will sound, trite...
Mike and I went to the funeral of a young man, Beau Beaulieu who was killed in Iraq very recently..
some lady came marching up to Mike, and yelled at him "He didn't have to die,He died for NOTHING. it makes NO sense."
Mike replied :"It makes perfect sense, he was a warrior, he died willingly for us, so innocent people didn't have to."
My throat closed up,the tears ran, as they did many times that day..the Troops here, brought it all home for me, the ones I speak and fool with every night on The Canteen...
and my brother too, who served in Viet Nam...
Meeting Long Cut, was awesome..He is a fine and wonderful example (as are many) of the REAL hereos we should all look up to.
Some people just DO NOT understand what it takes, and what you give, but, Mike and I do, (and The Canteeners of course) and we thank you with all our hearts..
