CONGRESSIONAL VOTES: At home, a lively debate in Congress ended on Jan. 12 with a 52-47 Senate vote and a 250-183 House vote allowing Bush "to use United States armed forces" if Iraq did not comply with the Security Council deadline.
John had a brief stint on nights at WTN 99.7 in Nashville. I used to call in all the time.
How come so many Americans just don't get it then? I just don't understand.

-- In the second debate Kerry mocked the President for straddling the stem cell issue because his stance implies that it is okay to destroy some life in some circumstances. If this was just a distortion of the President’s view (the stem cells that he made available for research were never going to become “life”) that would just be politics as usual. However, during the same debate where he chastised Bush for his being too “wishy washy” on “life,” Kerry proudly stated that he is a Catholic who believes that life begins at CONCEPTION but who, because he can not allow his religious beliefs to impact his public stances, also believes that poor women have a “Constitutional Right” to have their abortions paid for by the government. During the very same week, in a black church, Kerry contradicted his “keep religion about of politics” claim by saying, “faith without works is dead.” How can anyone have any idea what John Kerry really believes about ANYTHING when he continually takes both sides of even the most important and fundamental issues of our time?
Kerry claimed that his position on abortion and stem cells is justified because he cannot impose "an article of faith" on Americans who do not share that. Kerry's answer is absurd because the issue is not "an article of faith" in Catholicism. That an unborn child is "living" and "human" does not require faith. It is based on reason and observation of evidence. The pro-life position on both issues is not limited only to Catholics. Kerry is dead wrong on this.
When abortion was illegal in America it was not because the Vatican controlled U.S. courts and legislatures prior to 1973. Kerry's position and statements on this are preposterous and ridiculous.

A few minutes ago Ziegler said he thinks Kerry will win, and earlier this evening he (with John and Ken) sounded undecided about who to vote for! It was very disappointing hearing him say both those things. Maybe freepers can help him become more upbeat - every vote will help, even if it's in California.

JZ is awesome, he's a real firecracker of a host. I predict he will be on days, nationally syndicated, in a couple of years. He beats the pants off of the second tier of national daytime hosts. He's a lib on some social issues though, sort of like John and Ken, also on KFI 640 in SoCal.
John Ziegler has been keeping me up until midnight 5 days a week since he came on KFI. (LOL and Thank God for that.)
