Kerry's use of the term "AK-47" is calculated. It has become a buzzword among the anti-gun crowd. It matters not that the fully automatic AK-47 was not covered under the recently expired "Assault Weapon" law.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I cannot recall when a real, automatic, AK-47 was used during a crime in the United States.

IIRC, the dirtbags that did the North Hollywood Bank of America robbery used full auto AK's among other things.

They didn't care about the legality of robbing a bank and shooting cops, why would they care about legally obtaining those firearms under the AWB?

The AWB was a joke & Kerry is a joke. Hopefully they'll both be bad memories very soon.
