But how do we fight? We are so fragmented and separated. I will vote, but it is like my pathetic little rifle arrayed against the big guns of the democrat/media machine. Even though I'm fortunate to live in conservative Texas, my district has been democrat. It isn't now due to redistricting, but the architect of that, Tom Delay, is being persecuted for those changes.
To top it all off, we believe in the rule of law where the left doesn't believe in anything but winning.
I'm very frustrated.

I've been tracking stuff like this this morning for my blog, and I found more scary things. This is extracted from my latest post:
Reading Overtaking Events, where Matt is running an article about scary stuff coming from the Democrats, I ran across a link to this discussion thread at DU where someone is encouraging that anybdy to the right of McCain should be killed because they are a fundamentalist religious bigot threatening their freedom.
If I didn't know better, I would think I was reading a Bolshevik era discussion of how to deal with those who didn't agree with you.
It is comforting to know that I live in a country where people think I should die because of my political and religious beliefs, and that my very existance is a threat to their freedom (as if their freedom to hate outweighs my freedom not to behave that way).
It is comforting to know that I live in a country where taling likethat is not considered grounds for incarceration, torture or other wrongs.
But it is scary that some people are so far from reality that they pump themselves up to hate this much.
And can call themselves democratic with a straight face.
Are we looking into the face of the next totalitarian governement? What's the difference between such people and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi? Well, they haven't started the beheadings yet, but they have pumped enough hate into their bodies that we may very well see attacks of more than words.
___________ Don't know what we can do but keep the rhetoric up and pray...but that's what I intend to do. But the level of hate out there is irrational...and seems to be growing...or perhaps, my awareness of it has.
Scary Halloween indeed.

I am 78 years old and it truly makes me sick to see what is happening to the USA I fought for in WW II!I'm 57 and I was ASA in the Vietnam scene.
I wish you well trying to tolerate all of this. I am disgusted...............especially at the people in government who have allowed "old media" to be so influential and destructive.............and WRONG!!!!

If a young teen-boy can add up these events, and these truths................. he has been raised by good people --- you!

Thanks for the compliment, dear. We raised our children with a genuine, classic liberal arts education -- at home. And after trying pub ed, and getting shocked to the roots of our rational beings.
