Utah Freepers and Patriots Rally For The Troops
Ignore Moore and Have Fun Supporting Our Troops and Their Families at UVSC
The Rally Will Include:
Freepers and Lurkers:
The McKay Events Center Parking will likely be free and open (IF you plan on arriving at least 1.5 hrs early). Do NOT Park at Wal-Mart or the old (empty) Home Base stores (you could get a boot placed on your vehicle). It may be best to park in some of the nearby neighborhoods and walk to the venue.
Meet at 10:00 at the FRONT entrance of the McKay Events Center (in front of the security tables/metal detector). We'll then proceed to the rally from there.
Directions to the center:
Click here for a link to the directions
Plan on Bringing:
US Flags
Support the Troops/US etc Signs - (No anti-Moore signs, please)
Nice (casual ok) attire
Water, snacks, etc (if desired)
Thoughts on what to tell the media (they will be there), should you be interviewed (focus on the troops and families).
Schedule:
10:00 - Gather at Rally Site (Secured 'Protest' Area)
10:45 - Rally Begins
12:00 - Rally Ends
12:00-11:59 - Post 'After Action Report'
And our troops also!
Date of Rally is October 20th (a Wednesday)!
I forgot to post the date on the thread!
If anyone has access to a sound system (basic mic and speaker(s) is fine, but it would be nice be able to play music (tapes/cds etc) on it as well), please let me know ASAP. The UVSC Repubs can get one via the school, but would prefer not to.
If you plan on attending, please let me know (by posting to this thread or freep mailing me, if possible).
Great plan. (They won't let anyone park in the big empty parking lot east of the empty Home Base store? Kill-joys.)
I can't be there but I will keep the rally in my thoughts that morning.
Thanks! I also forgot the date (see the above post)...I've been up since early this morning, had a long work day, and am now feeling the effects :-(
If any updates become available, I'll post them here (rather than posting a new thread etc) and ping my Utah list.
I assume that MM turned down the request to appear and share a few words.
God bless our troops and their families..
MM wasn't asked, to my knowledge. I wouldn't ask him anyway - he's demeaned and insulted our troops enough as it is.
God Bless our troops!!! and to hell with the beached whale Michael Moore.....

Also, Utah Binger is prepared to make some signs (bring your own, however) and would like suggestions on what the signs should say. Please either post your suggestions on this thread (with Utah Binger in the "To:" line) or freep mail him TODAY. Below are my suggestions:
Support Our Troops and Their Families
Thank You
"Freedom is Not Free - Thank You" (see the pictures from a previous rally in Sacramento - I'd suggest Iwo Jima memorial as an image, rather than the crosses as troops' families will be there).
Proud of Our Soldiers
Proud to Be American
One more idea: "The US Military: Liberators of ??? million (between Iraq and Afghanistan)"
When we meet at 10:00, I need to talk to you about the media. There is an inidication that the media (one in particular) seems inclined to spin this as some nuts who hate Moore and couldn't care less about the troops (sigh). As such, do NOT mention Moore if interviewed! We'll discuss the details at the rally.
See you tomorrow!!!
Good luck tomorrow!
Ping....to all
Enquiring minds want to know who the media person is. FReepmail me, I can keep my mouth shut. :)
Good luck tomorrow. Wish I could be there.

I stated this elsewhere but will repeat it here for consistency:
If someone disagrees with the foreign and domestic policy of the current president, it does not make them anti-American. If someone thinks the current government is wasting the lives of American soldiers in a less than credible war that does not make them hate American soldiers. It means they hate the government that is throwing away the lives of those soldiers. There is a separation there. I support the troops in Iraq. I do NOT support the government that sent them there.
And everyone mocking Moore for his weight should honestly be quite ashamed of themselves. If you disagree with his opinions and his views, that's fine. LOWERING yourselves to making fun of his weight is pretty pathetic.
I also do not appreciate being called stupid and ignorant by Michael Moore, which is what he did while he was in Great Britain for his odious film Fahrenheit 911. Fine, he disagrees with President Bush's decisions on Iraq, but he should be a man and argue on the truth, not on emotional manipulation of less than truthful factoids.
