You listen to that maggot Brinkley, who by the way mentioned an article he published for Salon magazine, so you know where this guy is coming from, and then it is followed by John O'Neill, who, with the truth, just blows away everything that Douglas Brinkley just had to say. Hahahahaha.
Brinkley is a little snot with a high opinion of himself. He's probably horrified that his book was actually called on the carpet for false content, and thus is freaking out as to how this has reflected on him and his "scholarship" (I use that term loosely). Also, Brian Lamb asked him how it was that Brinkley's book was doing so poorly in number of sales as opposed to the SwiftVets' book "Unfit for Command". So now we know that Brinkley's book on Kerry ain't bringing in the bacon for Brinkley, comparatively speaking. I love it.
Brinkley is doing some serious back-filling in an attempt to save his own a$$.
Two other unrelated thoughts come out of this interview:
First, I believe it was Douglas Brinkley who organized some student history bus tours 12-15 years ago that gave Brian Lamb the idea for the C-SPAN School Buses.
Second, I'm now convinced we will see more of these types of shows from Lamb now that he is done with the Booknotes series. He said he was going to try some new formats.
