Kerry: 'We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance'...
If the American people vote this insane person as President, they deserve what they get.
The picture of Kozaks should be at the start of all of Bush's commercials until NOv. 3rd.
Tomnbeverly: maybe in the next debate when they talk about domestic items, Bush could mention the Beslan incident and this new article to ask Kerry if those parents in Russia thought that terrorism is a "nuisance".
Not anymore. The local cafe and barbershop will not allow it on their premises. Most in Crawford cancelled their subs. Kerry's hometown newspaper endorsed Bush, so it's a wash!
LLS
I believe oolatec's point was, Kerry was misquoted. Kerry was NOT misquoted. Not even a little bit. Even the thread title makes it clear Kerry "envisions" terrorism will be a nuisance. Where is the misquote, and where is oolatec?
The Bush campaign is making a new ad about this. I hope they will play it everywhere.
"In Washington, Republican Party chief Ed Gillespie criticized Kerry for saying in an interview in The New York Times Magazine that, "We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance." He appeared to equate terrorism to prostitution and illegal gambling, saying they can be reduced but not ended.
"This demonstrates a disconcerting pre-September 11 mind-set that will not make our country safer," Gillespie said on "Face the Nation" on CBS. "And that is what we see relative to winning the war on terror and relative to Iraq (news - web sites)."
Hours later, Bush's re-election campaign announced a new television ad that plays off of Kerry's interview comment. "Terrorism ... a nuisance? How can Kerry protect us when he doesn't understand the threat?" the ad says. The campaign said the ad would run on national cable television networks and the campaign's Web site. "

911 was a day of awakening for America to the true nature of the terrorist threat. I guess Kerry is still asleep!
You mean Dieter! I love that skit, "Now is the time on Sprockets when we dance".
We've learned our lesson about treating terrorists as a nuisance on 9/11. We will never forget and we can NEVER go back! This ought to be in every speech the president makes and an ad on this should run everywhere, everyday until election day.
LOL!
WTF???? This gives me a warm and fuzzy!!
All I could think when I saw this Kerry quote was "This man is going to get us all killed." He has no *clue* what we're dealing with. The idea of him leading our country back into the Clinton head-in-the-sand-pretending-it's-not-really-there kind of thinking is truly scary.
Edwards and Kerry planning to give nuclear energy technology to Iran is another example of their obliviousness. Reminds me of Clinton and China.
To be honest, if Kerry mis-quoted himself, that's his beast of burden. He has a penchant for taking more than one side to every issue. I'd love to see him slither away from this damning partial quote or not. The entire quote is just as damning as what Drudge posted.
You mean that's what those evil terrorists were that murdered our citizens in NYC? Golly! I didn't realize that that Kerry had such insights. What an idiot he is!
911 was an awakening for America to the true nature of the terorist threat. Kerry is still asleep!
A piece of advice, NEVER PUT SOMEONE WHO IS ASLEEP BEHIND THE WHEEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What the Hell?
TERRORISM IS EQUAL TO ILLEGAL GAMBLING?? Two buildings demolished? Our pentagon half in ruin? Smoldering plane wreakage in a gaping black hole in Penn? Peoples heads sawed off their shoulders and heard are cries of anguish? Thousands dead and he compares it to ILLEGAL GAMBLING??
He has no soul. This is sick!
So what, stop fighting terrorism??? He's in fact admitting we can't win.
Unless they are "Asleep at the Wheel" and pretty good western swing band...
And he would know, having never won a fight that he has been in...
