If you want to argue, I welcome it, but argue the point I was making -- that the vitriol in parts of this thread is not on the side of right -- nor is hate.

I did. I addressed the reason for the vitriol even as it relates to islamic history.

Right, and we agree that radical Islam sustains itself on hate. You made a great point in putting the current conflict in historic context as one in a series. I, on the other hand, did not make my point well: that we should not descend to their level of vitriol, or we perpetuate the evil ourselves.
