Edwards thought that his boyish smile would carry a lot of weight. VP Cheney did a subperb job in responding to Gwen's questions, as well as putting nails in Edwards coffin. Edwards lack of experience in dealing with high profile politicians certainly showed because he did not realize that he was being out-gunned until it was too late.
I've always thought that if (God forbid) something happened to Pres. Bush, we'd be in excellent hands with Cheney.

A Freeper was worried yesterday about the debate. I told him if I was Edwards I'd be peeeing in my pants over having to debate Cheney. I knew Cheney would eat him up. And he did. Yes!!! Cheney the skillful ole' Fox!!!
Listening to Edwards last evening, it occurred to me that he might sound great in a courtroom where he's expected to pound home one side only, but as V.P. he would NEVER manage to talk to Cherac, Schroeder or Putin and arrive at an agreement. In fact, I kept wondering how his wife can stand him.
Remember to purpose of these debates is to win the election...not the debates.
In case of another terrorist attack on the U.S., Bush would retaliate and put them out of business. Kerry would send Edwards out to argue with the terrorists.

But you must admit, breast implants stand for things such as insecurity, shallow needs, and false promises, and misprioritized vanity...... all Edwards characteristics.

I thought the best line of the debate was when Cheney was attacking Edwards' bad showing in the Senate, and said that Edwards own hometown newspaper calls him, "Senator Gone."

If this were a prize fight it would hve been stopped 1/4 way through. Even a blind man could see that Cheney spanked Boy Edwrds at least 10 times....Big Time.

My question for Kerry-Edwards: does Israel too have to pass a "global test" in defending itself? If it does, it will be obliterated in 20 minutes or less.
B-C should run with this aggressively in Miami, NYC, Philly, all cities with substantial Jewish populations. Anyone agree?

I mentioned this to my dad last night as well. Cahill looked like she'd just lost a family member or something. If Lockhart thought Bush/Kerry I was a tie, then Cahill must have thought this VP debate was a runaway in Cheney's favor. Her look may have been because it possibly was her choice to pick Edwards??? Anyone know if there's anything to that angle?

After the debate, she was interviewed by wolf Blitzer. She totally avoided answering the 1st 2 question (the 2nd was actually a rephrasing of the 1st question because Wolf recognized she was hemming and hawing. Shame he did not have the guts to say - Mary Bath, are you going to answer my question or not?) Wish I could remember the question.
She looked like she was going to have a seisure.
