Lehrer had an agenda and the truth about the senator from MA was not going to get in the way.

What it amounted to was GWB having to defend himself. He allowed that to happen.

Great read. I disagree with this:
Unfortunately, most voters will never hear of this record because this year's lone debate devoted to foreign policy failed to lay out the relevant facts.
That last bit is up to us. We need to make sure people hear about Kerry's record.

You are absolutely correct! The President missed a perfect opportunity to expose this fraud for what he is! So many people are willing to give this man a chance and they know nothing of his track record. I believe that President Bush must open up Kerry's record for all to see and I believe this will bring him down!

The President looked rattled and unfocused the entire night. Who in the world prepped him? Kerry left himself wide open for attacks and Bush did nothing. Yes. Bush had a once in a life-time opportunity to nail Kerry on SEVERAL points, he didn't do it.
The idea that Kerry came out of this debate a winner is inexcusable. Bush blew it big time.

Why didn't Jim Lehrer ask a single question of John Kerry about his opposition to every major weapons system, and for his support of a US unilateral nuclear freeze during the Cold War, not to mention his assessment that communism cannot be beaten and we shouldn't even try?Why didn't George Bush?
