It's not. I heard the smarmy Eleanor Clift say that the "race would tighten" in the Newsweek survey.

Yeah, but how much of a lead did they have him at?

Well it is a Newsweek poll, but I also think it is likely.
How's that for Nuance?
To: tsmith130
While I do not trust newsweak, I am interested in the internals. I dont get how Bush can blow a 6-8 point lead over a single debate.
Lets wait and see what other polls will show.
For sure it will give the media somthing to talk about and claim that "Kerry is making his come back."
*sigh*
What is odd is that this is in opposition to the dims own poll.
To: tsmith130
Remember, overpolling Democrats could make the poll seem closer.
It could be a deliberate MSM attempt to give a bounce to Kerry.

A NewsWEAK poll...that says it all.
C'mon, folks, chin up and all that. Work for Kerry's defeat--don't stand shaking in fear at the socialists.

All the recent news I've heard lately is that sKerry won the debate and GW won on substance.
Are we electing a debator or a President??
Get some upbeat posts going here!!! My goodness - it doesn't take much to get everybody in a funk - does it??
GW fans are not going to switch because sKerry has a big mouth and he's on TV now being so COCKY!!
He needs the ego knocked out of him and I think you know who can do it!

Don't get your boxers in a bunch. It's Newsweek for Christ sake.....they are an MSM. Jeez are Republicans such wimp's they let this garbage get to them? Don't make me regret my switching parties 7 months ago.

doesn't make sense, he leads in mostly everything else, strength, etc

Weekend Polls usually skew towards the Dems. The truth is Kerry probably picked up one or two points on Bush, but I'd be surprised if it's more than that. Look at the polling numbers midweek next week. They'll be a little more reflective of how the debates will effect the election on Nov. 02.
If the numbers are accurate, that just means we have to work harder. Get fired up! The safety of our country is at stake.

I don't know if Bush has a lead, but I am sure that the debates don't change the votes of that many people.

For what it is worth: I just saw "The Beltway Boys" on Fox and they scored the electoral college race something like 344-194 for Bush.

Every business has to do projections and I am sure that months ago Newsweek's Financial Analysts would have seen (due to pres election)October of 2004 as a huge bump in over the counter sales.
If you knew that the bulk of your readership was liberal and all you had to report was bad news during a time you were projecting higher than normal sales you would pull this crap...follow the money.

I hope this is wrong. So do I. I hate giving the leftist Kerry any hope of winning. One thing is for sure: We the average concerned citizen must get out there and make sure that our president wins. I am making that my sacred duty to America
