We must clean up the air we breathe and the water we drink or the health of all Americans will suffer

It's obvious to me that all these knuckleheads are drinking the Robert F. Kennedy, Jr Koolaid.

My Letters to Petzl, and Black Diamond

To: info@petzl.com

Please direct to Roody Rasmussen

Dear Mr. Rasmussen

I just read that Petzl America CEO Roody Rasmussen submitted a letter supporting John Kerry as President.

Roody should have kept his ideals to himself seperated from his company.

I will no longer be buying Petzl products for rock Climbing, and as I am an Instructor will also be leading all others within my circle of influence away from Petzl gear.

I was very dissapointed to read the letter.

kerry/edwards continue to support partisan environmental groups who want to take away our ability to enjoy recreation.

One only needs to look at the Angeles National Forest in California, and The Cleveland National Forest, which due to enivironmental groups have now closed major sections to outdoor recreation use due to alleged Fire Danger. This is just one example of democratic groups ruining our ability to use recreation.

They will not be happy untill all forests and parks are closed to all, and no one can use them.

By supporting this, you are agreeing to the end of recreation in The United States of America, and the probable end of your business interests in our country as well.

Please reconsider your postion, and I look forward to a response.

Regards,
Joe Ranos

Please direct to Peter Metcalf, CEO

Dear Mr. Metcalf,

I just read that Black Diamond CEO Peter Metcalf, submitted a letter supporting John Kerry as President.

Roody should have kept his ideals to himself seperated from his company.

I will no longer be buying Black Diamond products for rock Climbing, and as I am an Instructor will also be leading all others within my circle of influence away from Petzl Gear, to include fellow Instructors, as well as all future climbers. I have a choice who gets my business, and you no longer have mine.

I was very dissapointed to read the letter.

Well, I'm the kind of person who likes to stay inside and smoke cigarettes all day, so this is a little out of my ken. Even so, some of these Companies are familiar leftists to me, (do they really want an abortionist in every old growth tree? no doubt!), but hubby really likes his Leatherman (he uses it while we're inside smoking), but I'd be curious to know how small a minority of outdoors types this handful represents.

Are they just the windsurfing contingent?

Thank you Leatherman for making the choice for me.

This Gerber looks much better than this anemic socialist tool.

With all of those jacket makers listed, I am sure happy that I wear North Face.

For those of you looking for a replacement, the Gerber tool is much nicer than the Leatherman. It doesn't bite into your fingers when you use the pliers. You can also open and close it one-handed.

Cheese the letter H and some Rice.

I direct some dollars at my company and approve purchases under 1 thousand.

No more Leatherman products...of which, I approved probably 500 bucks a year. Small numbers...Eff 'em.

Are these the oh so chic POS "universal" tools that look like pliers with dingleberries hanging off the handles?

I've never been a fan of any "tool" that tries to serve the needs of multiple jobs while satisfying the requirements of none.

I have two, one from the late 80's (original design) and one of their later models (wave). In the past they have replaced them with no charge under their warranty. Now I plan to send them the following note: "Sorry, we are not encouraged to express our political views on the job and since your company has actively endorsed an anti-American socialist movement I am melting your products down into round balls and sending them to your candidate(who obviously needs some). There are many other choices for replacement tools which are comparable in both quality and price and are not politically affiliated with any party or movement."

Signed, American worker and former customer (since 1988)

I own a leatherman wave with adaptor kit and I like it. But I have since looked at the Swiss Army tool (comparably priced) and I like it a bit better.

Here's the following e-mail I just rec'd from Tim Leatherman. Appears like he got a alot of negative e-mails..!! Hehehehe....( BOLD IS MINE..)

Dear Sir or Madam:

I assure you I have personally read your e-mail. However, due to the volume of messages received, I cannot give a personalized response to each to you.

However, here in a nutshell is a general response:

Because I publicly stated how I am going to cast my vote, almost all of you have threatened a boycott against my company.

So be it.

I took a position, and now I will accept the consequences.

I am still going to do my absolute best to make great tools and hope that you and all Americans, of every political affiliation, will find them of value. If not today, someday.

Tim Leatherman

President

Leatherman Tool Group, Inc.

------------------------------------------------------

Subject: Kerry / Edwards

To Whom it May Concern:

I just read that the Leatherman Co. and it's owner is supporting Kerry / Edwards in this years election.

You just lost a customer....and I will be very vocal in letting my friends and family members know where you stand.

You are certainly free to spend your money however you see fit.........And so am I.

Sincerely,

Osage Orange

Outdoor businesses depend on abundant and available recreation opportunities so their customers can enjoy outdoor activities.

So when everything is inside a national park/monument/refuge/wilderness area and nobody can get to it, how many products will be needed by your customer base. Cascade designs makes great products and a crappy company to work for. A few of their employees took part in the fleecing of the NW taxpayers when the Kingdome roof repair ballooned from 6 million to 60 million dollars by pretending to work at supervisory jobs while really working at Cascade Designs.
