SUCCESS!

Bush more prepared to lead war on terror

One of the critical concerns for the American people is who will lead the war on terror. President Bush has been leading it and his record speaks for itself. There has not been a successful terrorist operation carried out in the USA since 9-11. Now John Kerry tells us that he will be the most effective leader in the war on terror.

At the debates in Iowa this past January, Kerry was asked when he would approve a pre-emptive strike in the face of international disapproval. "Only when the U.S. is so threatened that it is required for the survival of our country or for the accomplishment of some extraordinary humanitarian goal," he said. By this standard, a 9-11 style attack on the United States doesn't meet his conditions. The 9-11 attacks were horrendous, but stopping them was not required for the "survival of our country." In other words, it would almost have to be a nuclear attack on a massive scale.

Some might point out that a situation like 9-11 would fit under the second Kerry condition. After all, stopping the murder of 3,000 people would be an extraordinary humanitarian goal. Kerry apparently doesn't think that's enough. After all, Saddam was a mass murderer and Kerry recently referred to the war in Iraq as the wrong war at the wrong place and at the wrong time. If the mass murder of millions of people isn't sufficient to meet Kerry’s definition of an extraordinary humanitarian goal, then would the 3,000 that died Sept. 11?

I'm glad Kerry cleared up his policy concerning pre-emptive strikes against terrorists. I'll be voting for Bush.

FREE REPUBLIC POSTER HAS LETTER TO THE EDITOR PUBLISHED

Free Republic poster, mnehrling, recently had a letter to the editor published in his local newspaper, the Longview News-Journal. The letter is a good attack piece that takes Kerry's own words and shows what it would mean when put up against something like September 11th.

Mnerling, is a paticipant in the Letter to the Editor campaign that some Freepers are involved in to help frame the issues for their local communities. The Longview News-Journal has a circulation of over 30,000 people. Our intrepid letter writer said, “I want to start doing these about once a week or more. Especially considering how many people looked me up and called (both good and bad), I like to stur up the pot a little...”

This election is too important for us to sit on the sidelines. Anyone can do this. For some help getting started, go to the following website. You'll find tips on letter writing. You'll find issues with example letters and source material for quotes. We also have links to a couple of sites where you can find the email address for the letter to the editor section of your local newspapers. In one case, the site, let's you enter your letter online using their forms and send it to the letters of your choice.

If you have more than one local paper, do two different letters and send one to each. Be careful about sending the same letter to both newspapers though. They don't appreciate it and they may make sure your letters aren't printed in their paper again.

With the debates starting tomorrow night, we can help stop the effectiveness of Democratic spin by doing our part to get the truth out there. Come on, give it a whirl.

When you do get your letter published, let us know. We love success stories!

Great info, thanks!

The Bush-Cheney campaign website also has an automated letter-to-the-editor function that makes it super easy to zip off a couple of letters to your local papers... I've used it several times myself :-)

Thanks for the plug. We all should get out and hit hard in October.

Think about the Dems viral marketing strategies, exploiting lies, fears, and conspiracy. It is going to get bad this last month. Just like the terrorists fear loosing power, thus they fight harder, so do the dems.

We need to fight this month to get our message of truth out. Write letters every day to your editor. Write to counteract the propaganda that the left is spewing. Write to give everyone a reality check.

Conspiracy theories are fun for movies, but they are dangerous in the hands of a political party!

The democratic party is a party that has abandoned any connection to faith. To them, there are no absolutes. When there are no absolutes, you can do anything, lie, cheat, etc... all fo rthe common good or the "betterment" of the underclass.

It's time to go after them with every legitimate weapon we have...We can't let them put the President on the defensive.
