We actually changed the title in the interim between the first post and cbb's repost.
BUMP for later
Or worse, his ineptitude would leave us at the doorstep of a war the size and scope of which would leave us no other choice but to institute a draft. We are today where Clinton's failures led, where might Kerry lead?
It's (the economy) Rather, Stupid
The French didn't need a draft in WWII either. Same strategy. Surrender.
This article actually took my breath away. I never watch CBS News. I don't really participate a lot and have to confess to an "if I don't do it, someone else will (fax, write, etc) attitude" but this is beyond the pale. The answer, I believe, is as it always is: All CBS understands is money...I am calling my local CBS station in the morning, getting everyone of likeminded thinking I know to do the same, and writing every sponsor. It is the last five weeks and the media has so much invested in Kerry they are going to dig in in a big way...and I just wish every Republican everywhere could understand to the bottom of their heart, THE DEMOCRATS WILL STOP AT NOTHING AT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Repubs are notorious for their complacency and now is not the time to think it's in the bag...if the Dems can't tangle up this election, they will steal it and beyond that, with the amount of hate they have unleased and continue to encourage in this nation I really worry for Bush's safety if he does get a second term...sorry if I went on and on...this was CBS' way of saying we do whatever we want no matter what...don't expect the media to grab onto this one...they aren't about to share their power with a bunch of bloggers...
It would be helpful if people continued posting on your thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1229888/posts so we don't dilute the ongoing information updates.
If CBS is really cooking the books once more on a anti-Bush hit piece, they are beyond belief. Not surprised, but they are beyond belief.
I don't know what adjective works best with CBS- sad or pathetic? I'll just go with deplorable.
As the pajamajeen we need to always be very careful to be as truthful and factual as we can possibly be. I understand where you are coming from, and it would be rather run to frustrate them like that, but it would destroy our credability and there is nothing more important to us.

No, they are not required to register.
cbs has decided to go down fighting for the dums.... their careers are ruined, their credibility is shot to shite...they've decided to out themselves and go after bush regardless of the repercussions... this is all out partisan warfare!!! they won't be stopped until the FCC steps in(or better yet some mutha'fukka' lawyers) to shut them down... they'll probably get away with their bs 'til after the election. This is a reflection of what has already happened in australia. media needed total revamping. We in usa never heard about this in "evening news". the dem/lib/commie pieces of manure will stop at nothing to get this election. this election most dangerous to their global socialization effort...(bill clinton sold our souls).. if they are stopped now it will shatter them and reshape the future for a free-er democratic world...(this war is the beginning of their end)
BUMP ... the Mainstream Media have been BASHING VETERANS since 1969.
I think this is the part of the propaganda that is most frightening to people: That their daughters will be drafted. But I really don't believe this will scare people into voting for Kerry.
I am not surprised...why should Dan stop telling lies now....Hell, Dan....Go for broke........
LIES! LIES! BY THE SCORE!! KEEPS THE DEMS ON TOP!! SO THEY TELL MORE!!!
To hate Bush as much as it appears he does must make Dan Rather miserable. One thing about Rather --- his remarkable hubris remains intact.
For what it is worth: I have a friend who works in advertising for a large company in Dallas. His company DOES pay close attention to the ratings, but they also take emails, letters, and phone calls from viewers very, very seriously. One way to push this would be to let the sponsors (aka companies that advertise on CBS) know that we will NOT buy their products as long as they sponsor CBS or any of its affiliates. Email them. Call them. Write them. My buddy says it works.
