040922-N-4374S-012 Arabian Gulf (Sept. 22, 2004) - An E-2C Hawkeye assigned to the Tigertails of Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron One Two Five (VAW-125) makes an arrested landing aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67). Kennedy and her embarked Carrier Air Wing Seventeen (CVW-17) are operating in the 5th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Units attached to the Kennedy Carrier Strike Group (CSG) are working closely with Multi-National Corps-Iraq and Iraqi forces to bring stability to the sovereign government of Iraq. Those beautiful planes give me goosebumps!!! When my husband was in the Air Force, I spent a lot of the day running out to see what airplane was going over the house. Now that he is out, we live in a non-military town and there is no action in the sky. After lots of years I still miss seeing them.
