If they only catch 10% and they caught roughly a million crossers last year, does that means 10,000,000 are actually crossing? And 9,000,000 per year are not apprehended? I don't think so.
Exactly, but that's their assumption. They judge how many are crossing based entirely on the idea that everybody that catch represents 9 they didn't. 1000 new agents on the southern border and a fair bit of good new technology doesn't enter into the equation at all, if they catch more that means they also failed to catch more.
Now how many do you think could have made it through either our southern or northern borders and what could they do once here...
How much damage could 100 do. 500? Even assuming they are operating in about the same size groups of 10-20 people per cell, how many terror attacks could they carry out? Even assuming they'll never be able to hijack another jet liner.
They'd run out of Mexicans to send over in a couple of decades at that rate. :)
It's hard to know the actual number --- many come back and forth quite frequently --- they go home for a week or two to visit friends or family or to party in Mexico and come on back --- they aren't all new faces. Many of the apprehended come right on back also --- so apprehensions doesn't mean much. Most illegals were apprehended at least once ---- often several times until they got the hang of it.
