This all really sounds like the whole family were a bunch of delusional TV casualties with very little grasp of reality.

The kid manages to escape the cesspool, and is making something of his life - even if by accident - and then he gets killed. It just figures.

Now, the borderline-psycho "Mom" has gotten a dose of reality, and it's caused her to go completely loony-tunes.

Where's the father in all this? Slamming them down at the local watering hole? Hiding under the couch? Anaesthetized in front of the TV?

Even though they are opposed to the war, the Dvorin family sounds all right to me. (Father Richard, Sister Rebekah, Wife Kelly, that is. Mother Sue Niederer is another matter. And it appears Seth spent his last leave with the Dvorins not the Neiderers)

And what's this "didn't join out of patriotism" Sue? Not what his sister says.

Family grieves loss of soldier in Iraq Seth Dvorin, 24,

Rebekah said the family believes Seth was planning to spend his career with the military — he graduated from Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Ga., received his commission in January 2003, and also graduated Airborne and Air Defense Artillery schools — though Richard said his son realized the dangers of serving.

When asked to relate a story about Seth, Richard wished instead to make some comments about his son’s character.

"Seth was the type of boy that any parent hopes to have," he said. "He was kind and courteous, and thoughtful and respectful. He had the ability to adapt to any situation he was in, and saw the best in everyone."

Seth Dvorin's father is a retired detective out of the New Brunswick police department, and he is very, very proud of his son.

Seth's father is extremely embarassed about his ex-wife and everything she has said about Seth. (The couple got divorced more than 15 years ago, if my memory is correct.

There was an article in The Trentonian with the father's point of view, but for some reason it is not in the archives.

Also, the thing about the father not paying for college is baloney.

How do I know. I spoke with him several times after a previous newspaper story in which Niederer said some outrageous and hurtful things about the son and the family.

Believe me when I say that this woman has such hatred in her heart for President Bush than she does respect for the memory of her own son, Seth Dvorin. How pathetic is that???

Lastly, the thing about the military recruiter breaking a promise is bogus to the max. Seth joined the military after 9/11 because he wanted to serve his country, not to get $$$.
