The Nicole Kidman film includes, as far as I'm aware, a scene where a mother and son bathe together but I don't know the context of the scene or her on-screen son's age.

 

It is not even remotely a mother-son portrayal. Google is our friend.

Bosses of Nicole Kidman 's latest movie Birth are defending the decision to include the actress in a bathtub scene with a 10-year-old boy. In the movie, the Oscar-winning actress' dead husband is reincarnated as a child, played by Canadian actor Cameron Bright , and it has elicited much outrage after it was revealed Kidman and her young co-star share a bathtub in one scene. But New Line Cinema's Mark Ordesky insists there's nothing in the movie to cause alarm. He says, "There is no physical contact between Nicole and Cameron. They are not nude in the bathtub. The scene was shot over Nicole's shoulder. (Cameron) is playing a grown man trapped in the body of a 10-year-old. When you see the performances in the context of the plot, it makes perfect sense. It is meant to be a provocative film, but not in a horrible or salacious way." Bright, who played Rebecca Romijn-Stamos ' son in the movie Godsend, notes, "In one movie I did, I had an abusive father, and in another I had a father who was a pedophile. I've had a lot of really dark roles." Lauren Bacall also appears in the movie as Kidman's mother.

My questions to you, since you have homosexual friends,

a) why are so many lesbians "pro-choice" when it
probably won't affect them personally?
b) by the same token, why do so many lesbians

defeat the whole purpose?

Given that so many homosexuals are "liberal" and
presumably have some sympathy towards these views,
why are they so anxious to get married themselves?

And this is why I say libertarians are not a trustworthy coalition partner for the conservative movement. The Cato Institute's brief was cited twice in Lawrence v. Texas and their lawyers were very pleased with themselves that summer. As soon as the Dems figure out basic economics, the libertinians will jump ship as soon as they can.

But the position that there should be an age of consent is itself a moral position. There are those who feel such limits are as arbitrary as those condemning homosexuality. To quote a common libertinian mantra, who are you to judge?

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but can you point me to any reputable documentation for this? True, their calendar can be today most easily checked by using advanced mathematics, but there in no indication to suggest that given a long enough period of time, all their observations and predictions were the result of anything other than "lower" mathematics. Finding a treatise on imaginary numbers or second derivatives in Mayan or Inca might persuade me otherwise.

Read the report on the Catholic priest abuse. 80% of the abuse was of a homosexual nature.

There's so much in your comments... How about this one:

Do you draw any lines at all? If so, where? If not, why? What about a docu-drama about Jeffrey Dahmer, with Dahmer made out to be a sympathetic character? What about the German homosexual cannibal? Do you think it legitimate if a movie were to be made showing him to be a sympathetic character, or the act of homosexuals eating each other (cooked, of course) a desirable and acceptable act?

There is no legitimate reason to debate the issue of pedophilia. There is only one side, and that is that adult/child sex is extremely evil and wrong. There is no other side in the debate.

And BTW, you are wrong concerning there being no connection between homosexuality and child molestation. Homosexuals have been known throughout history to be attracted to young - adolescent and pre-adolescent - boys. You even mentioned that two thirds of victims of pedophiles are girls. So that leaves one third are boys. Guess what - they are molested overwhelmingly by men. Men+boy sex is homosexual. So around 2% of the population is molesting one third of the children who are molested.
