Burkett is a National Guardsman who said he saw Joe Allbaugh destroying Bush's National Guard records in 1997.

He also tried to sue the State of Texas for not getting reimbursed for some medical treatment in 1998, when Bush was governor.

He's got a grudge against Bush.

The problem is, Burkett's had two mental breakdowns and, in the only inteview I've heard, he comes across as completely nuts.

Well, Rather must have recognized a fellow nutjob in Burkett and decided he was in good company. 'Where's the Kinko's, Kenneth?' Oh, to be a fly on the wall at CBS and/or Kerry headquarters.
