Here is the obvious interpretation of what happened. CBS tried to get somebody to say something to make whatever story they were going to go with look good (perhaps with the 86 old lady).
However, they hit a snag in and couldn't get whatever this is they want, that's why there was one delay after another, they were delays hoping to get this "it". But they realized they weren't going to get it, and without this "it" they were going to look really bad, so they release another bland ho hum statement intead. This statement is the equivalent of "nevermind".
What CBS really means is they are going to redouble their efforts to find a schmuck expert who will support their garbage/slander.....
We can't let up,,,we must redouble our efforts too!

They have no intention of authenticating them. They are planning to certify the accuracy of the phony contents, with a series of exclusive interviews.
Jeez - if they're not convinced by now...
I don't think so...this is the beginning of them saying the copies thay have are fake, but the info is real.
Most people start posting stories that are relatively minor. Not you, though -- you jump into the deep end of the pool with much anticipated information on one of the biggest stories of the year. Good post!
