Suddenly, everyone's turning against us Baby Boomers
Richmond Times Dispatch ^ | 9/14/04 | RAY MCALLISTER

Whoa! What's happening?

Why are people turning on us?

We're the Baby Boomers, you know.

The Mighty Boomers.

We invented everything from money to music to sex, did we not? Nothing good ever happened until we came along.

Now people are turning on us.

We Baby Boomers are being made to feel . . . guilty.

Ridiculous, isn't it?

People have tried to make us feel guilty before. They said we consumed too much. Or we were too shallow. Or we only thought about ourselves.

Excuuuuse me.

Who should we think about? Somebody else?

All that was just jealousy. Even Tom Brokaw came along and said the World War II generation was "the greatest." Jealousy. Pure jealousy.

Sure, they saved the world.

Did they ever throw a party like Woodstock?

As a baby boomer (born 1954), I call us the "worthless" generation. We're spoiled brats!

Of course, if the Baby Boomers got what they wanted (socialism) they wouldn't be put in a home, they'd be euthanized.

Fortunately, the Baby Boomers failed.

If we can just get past the next two presidential elections and keep a bonafide Boomer from winning, I believe the nation will be spared. (And I say this as someone who was born in the early 1950s.)

Just wait till that generation wants to retire and there aren't enough people to work and pay for that.

Looks like confiscation of wealth by way of the death tax will have to stay to even begin to pay for Social Security.

Of course, in less than a decade, Democrats will enact their new euthanasia plan to weed out expenses I am sure.

The way I see it is that if we can kill babies through abortion, is it that much of a leap for them to kill the elderly if they become a burden?

Too bad you didn't get to watch "Vietnam Veterans for Truth" on C-Span this past weekend. Maybe some "Baby Boomers" are spoiled brats but most of us did what Americans of every generation have done.

An example of how some boomers are so bad was a post I read (not here of course) from some woman who was whining about her 20-something daughter. She was upset that she was always at odds with her daughter and that if it kept up, her daughter might not be around to take care of her in a few years.

Those of us from the depression era and earlier have known and said the baby boomers were wortless, they are just now getting the message.

If it takes 50 years to get the message it's proof they are wortless!

Yeah, probably true. I'm with Groucho in this case: I don't want to vote for anyone who would elect me.

Or is that a conundrum?

No, many of us have been against the Baby Boomers for quite some time. The rest are starting to wake up.

They are turning against us because of the likes of billy klintoon and dickie holbrooke, a generation that has sold out several groups of people and nations, and when asked to served turn a ran.

There is an exception to this and that is a select few who actually took up arms in defense of the nation.

We no longer want to protect the borders and we have filled our children's heads with crap about peace love and happiness.

"Fortunately, the Baby Boomers failed."

I hope you're right. I'm one of those boomers. This nonsense started when I was still in high school in the 60's. Most of my generation were selfish, spoiled, uneducated in history bores who still believe they are more enlightened than any generation before them.

I didn't like them then, and Kerry/Edwards are the hallmark of what I didn't like. However, I must say something about the "greatest" generation before us. They are the ones who truly benefited from Social Security, the good economy etc. and I find them to be the last to worry about all of you or the boomers. Many boomers have never benefitted and will never benefit from the "great society". Social security will not be there for us by the time we reach age 67 or older to qualify...they keep raising the age. Hopefully, if you raise enough hell, the powers will fix the mess before you reach this age.
