I sure am glad the Democrats in the early 70's didn't do anything like that.
That's baloney, just becasue you are involved in a political campaign it doesn't give you carte blanche to do break whatever statutes you want since it is merely politics. If laws have been broken then whoever broke them needs to be charged and sentenced if they are found guilty.
We are not going to have a banana republic where the people in power investigate and imprison their political opponents. Fuggedaboutit.
