As many of you know, I have over the past four years occasionally chronicled the Clintons, from the perspective of what one hears and observes from Beautiful Downtown Chappaqua. Many Freepers have told me how much they enjoy my commentaries. I've ignored the rumors, the innuendos, the "tin-foil hat" theories. Indeed, there are many more very interesting details that I have deliberately chosen NOT to share with all of you. What I'm going to discuss now is admitted speculation on my part, but based upon a few conversations I've had in the last few days..and you'll have to trust my instincts on my sources..OK..here goes..
You can burn it, you can shoot it, you can put in a rocket and send it into the heart of the sun, but it will not die.
I fully expect that in 2048, there will be talk about cloning Hillary from her corpse and building a time machine to resurrect the possibility.
That said, I live in NJ and experienced the torch up close. I think the way Bush/Cheney is running the campaign, the Clinton's could pull this and it wouldn't matter.
Teresa returned to campaigning almost immediately. I'm not sure what's she'e doing now, but her illness was very temporary.
Please see Post #15.
I concur with your analysis.
I agree with your analysis, except on this point. She! can wait until October, she! can duck all debates.
There is no downside, that is for sure. She could take either slot on the ticket, Pres or Veep. If any combination would pull more votes than Kerry/Edwards, the DEM party has nothing to lose by making a switch. Kerry's health, or a scandal (memogate) can take him down.
In that light, memogate was engineered, perhaps with Kerry's knowledge. He can go down for a political scandal instead of for poisoning the American public against an entire generation of soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen.
She will never run.
She will be fatter than Elizabeth Edwards in 2008 and look as weather-beaten as Ann Richards.
No way.
I think they don't have time to file..How can Her Heinous run this year?
I'm in.
Seems like the only issue would be ballot deadlines. The parties largely control how their candidates are nominated. And as you said, if there are any laws (they'd be state laws, not federal), the Rats will just befuddle the matter in an enormous legal quagmire. By the time its sorted out the election will be over.
As for the major idea, back when Dean was running this scenario sounded perfect, since it was perfectly obvious that Dean was a nutcase. Who'd have thought the SWIFTvets would have emerged from obscurity to sink Kerry's campaign?
Finally, its silly to believe in conspiracies and I don't think there's one here. But I do agree that the opportunity appears to be arising, and that Hitlery would *never* submit herself to a one-year campaign cycle. So it's possible they'll make a run for it.
I'll throw one more reason to SUPPORT this line of thinking, however: we know that a lengthy campaign would not leave Hill clean -- but an absurdly SHORT campaign, and she has a shot, IM(very afraid)HO.
If she played by the rules and ran for the nomination, by all mens go for it. No one will ever accept her getting th Presidency by this means.
How about ballot issues...I'm not sure at this date they could get her on the ballot? Anybody have any expertise on that?
And increasingly conceivable. For the very reasons you cite.
Indeed, the 2008 nomination of a party that was utterly demolished in 2004 may not be all that attractive as a launching pad. Though it's well to remember that, after Goldwater ostensibly "buried the party" in 1964, Nixon won in '68 (an open seat, during an ongoing war, I might add).
But would Hillary relish taking over a government with dominant GOP majorities in both houses of Congress?
What is becoming increasingly clear is that, the way things are going for Democrats, there is no downside!
Hillary will NEVER be President! She is way too polorizing.
I do think she has her 08 speech ready to give on November 3rd. And I do agree 4 years is a long time and she will become a punching bag of the right.
We will have 3 years to build a case and set out a strategy to ruin her in 07-08.
I think the RNC convention showed we have such a better message and line up of politicians for the futre. Rudy, McCain, Arnie and Condi are part of the POSITIVE future.
The DIM LIGHT is burning out.....Dean, Sharpton, Kerry, Kucinich, Gore, Mcawful etc are history.......
For now barring any huge event KERRY IS TOAST. He really is the worst candidate they could have put up there. In fact he has divided his own party with his flip flopping. A bad first decade of the new millinium for the Dimwits!
It is set in stone my friend, have you read my bio, trust me, I know ...
