EFF files ethics complaint against Governor Locke

OLYMPIA,WA – The Evergreen Freedom Foundation filed an ethics complaint against Governor Gary Locke last Friday for his role in soliciting contributions from businesses with state contracts for July's National Governors Association (NGA) meeting in Seattle. The Ethics Board previously warned Governor Locke in a February 2003 staff analysis not to directly solicit contributions from business and to entirely avoid any soliciting of companies with state contracts. As reported by the News Tribune (Tacoma), Governor Locke ignored the Ethics Board's warning.

Eighteen companies, holding 155 state contracts worth about $206 million, contributed at least $720,000 to the NGA meeting. Since it is unclear which of these companies Governor Locke directly called for solicitations, EFF has requested the Ethics Board to fully investigate the governor's actions.

Locke's a tax and spend, retiring/lame duck Demonrat. Since when do any of them have any ethics? Locke wouldn't know ethics if it came up and bit him on the @$$, unless there was some way of using it for a tax increase.

And since when has any ethics commission ever done anything to a Rat, let alone to anyone else?

This will see the light of day just about the same as the Titanic's engine room will.

Gawd, it will be good to be rid of Locke! The only thing worse than him would be Ron "The Socialist" Sims- he'll make Locke look like a piker.

Ron won't have a Chance. I have talked to several Demo's about this.

How about the buses with the slogan on them "Register to vote, we can make a change". Doesn't that sound fairly close to the Kerry mantra? It seems to me a non-partisan way of saying what they would say they want to say, would be more like...."Register to vote, you can make a difference.

That's good news, but what gives? I thought "Taxem'" Sims would be a shoo in by all the brainless King County libs. Surely, they aren't gonna back Christine are they?

I like Rossi's gentle attitude and message, but can't see where he will be able to come through the mud-bath from whatever lib candidate there is and the lib establishment. God, wouldn't it be nice to see Rossi and Nethercutt replace the tax and spender libs, and get this state's economy going again?

Well, I can dream, can't I??

I did my part. I crossed over the line and voted as a Democrat for the primary. I wrote in Lenin, Himmler, Eisner, Kathy Goertzen, Mickey Mouse, Patches the Clown among others.

I made veeery sure to vote for Ron Sims, however.

Repealing the blanket primary should backfire for the parties.
