The raping of America’s vote
As a supporter of our president, the information that is starting to appear regarding CBS’s presentation of alleged fraudulent memos degrading President Bush’s military service has brought increasingly, incredulous outrage. However, as a citizen of this great nation a sense of rape and violation is what I am really feeling. Malicious manipulation of the news for one purpose and one purpose only appears to be the making of John F. Kerry as president. Apparently, the stripping away of America’s cherished election process is the goal in mind. Nothing and no one appears to be beyond the reach of the deceptive path of those wishing to change our country’s political debate.
When John F. Kerry saluted the nation during the Democrat National Convention, he brought upon himself the wrath that has followed. His military actions during and after his time in Vietnam, his words spoken on the Senate floor, as well as well as his interviews in regards to Vietnam are all fair game. Basing his credentials on his military service allows public review of his debate put forth. Have investigative journalists honestly prosecuted a plan to get to truth regarding this man? Or have they instead gone to his defense? Sadly, it appears that the rape of President Bush 30 year ago military credentials is of more importance than John F. Kerry’s military service, Senate years or public actions.
In terms of CBS and their accusations, it is important to find the facts before conviction. However, is it not interesting that we are unable to find curious outrage by journalist? Do they not feel a need to stand up for those of us who may be violated? Do we have a “Band of Brothers” in the media’s courtroom unwilling to attack one of their own?
If CBS is found to have placed in the election debate fraudulent information in hopes of moving the electorate to their political persuasion, we must call it what it is, a betrayal and violation of the public trust, a raping of America’s vote.
Excellent post - you hit the nail on the head. Our only hope is spreading the truth through the internet, talk radio and FoxNews.
I'm entertaining multiple scenarios about this.
1) Members of Kerry's campaign organization created these docs and placed them with CBS in order to discredit Bush.
2) A Kerry supporter did this, but he/she was not connected with Kerry's organization and they knew nothing of it.
3) A Bush supporter (3a, part of Bush's org., 3b, not part of his org.) did this, figuring it would get discovered and discredit Kerry.
4) Someone did this, figuring it would get discovered, in an effort to discredit CBS.
I actually think 1) is the LEAST likely alternative. I'm thinking 2) is most likely, but I don't dismiss the others at all.

I think that they were created because they were desperate. If they tty this crap in the closing days of the election cycle, they may be able to keep the story in question long enough to steal some votes.
If the election eve disclosrue of George W. Bush's DUI charge cost him 0.53% of the vote then it cost him the popular vote in the 2000 election.
What, you're shocked to find that CBS/NBC/ABC/CNN have a political agenda and are doing something other that just reporting the news? This has been going on for decades. Wake up, get rid of your TV, read some history, and come to the internet for the news.
I feel that individuals making their own decisions as to products they purchase that are advertised on various networks is a personal choice. I also feel that choosing the channel of TV and/or TV news one watches is also a personal choice and the recent numbers on the republican convension that indicate that Fox News had more views than MSM CBS indicates what people really think about CBS News.
However, the CBS NETWORK, not just 60 Minutes, not just CBS News is standing by the story.
The network needs a lesson in what lack of integrity means to them.
I would hope that perhaps some sports team league might the next time it auctions off broadcast rights, include a clause of "network integrity" and bar CBS from competing.
I would further hope that the White House might bar networks with no itegrity from traveling with the Presidential party and would ban them from certain media events. This kind of over-the-top yellow-journalism deserves real world conscequences.
Maybe an advertiser or producer to one of the popular CBS prime-time shows should step up to Viacom Management and say they can no longer be connected with CBS as the lack of integrity of the network is rubbing off on them.
Some how I hope that the Network realizes and suffers from what it is doing and allowing.
The way to get back at CBS is to force the cable companies to allow customers to pick their channels. Cable TV is pure communism, we need to be able to choose what channels we want to watch and pay for.
That makes sense, however liberals don't have logic on their side. They don't appear to need it.
I will not watch CBS again until this is cleared up. in addition, if the other channels do not insist on truth, I will no longer turn their channels on.
It doesn't matter what you watch with cable TV, CBS still gets paid whether you watch them or not.
