So what he got a font from an Interpol machine...So the real question is Did killian know how to type? ( cause on a selectric hunt and peck REALLY shows up)Would anyone TYPE out memos to themselves? Did a Guard unit ( the lowest of the low on the goody scale ) actually have such a unit? And the answers are no no and no...These things stink to high heaven and if anyone thought that Kerry would win because Clinton was helping../.yeah right they have guaranteed a spot for Hillary in 2008
Where was the part of one of the memos... where it mentioned some standard in a book - someone looked it up and it was completely unrelated? Who cares about if it can be matched on a computer - besides that, it has terminology errors..
(from http://pespmc1.vub.ac.be/OCCAMRAZ.html)
"Occam's razor is a logical principle attributed to the mediaeval philosopher William of Occam (or Ockham). The principle states that one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed. This principle is often called the principle of parsimony. It underlies all scientific modelling and theory building. It admonishes us to choose from a set of otherwise equivalent models of a given phenomenon the simplest one. In any given model, Occam's razor helps us to "shave off" those concepts, variables or constructs that are not really needed to explain the phenomenon. By doing that, developing the model will become much easier, and there is less chance of introducing inconsistencies, ambiguities and redundancies." When there are competing explanations for a phenomenom, the simplest explanation is usually true.
Here, either the memo is a fake, or else the TANG officer in question just happened to have typed the memo on one of the most sophisticated typewriters of its day.
Hmmm. Tough choice.

Back then a Selectric Composer (Compositor) with fonts cost more than a Mercedes Benz.
And it took training to use.
you should contact him again and see if he agrees with the way the Globe is spinning his opinion as an endorsement of the questioned documents.
Based on what was reported in the NY Times, it appears the Globe is wildly distorting what he said.
"Once he compared the Bush memos to Selectric Composer samples obtained from Interpol, the international police agency, Bouffard said his view shifted."
sKerrys french pals lending a hand?
Exactly!
ROFL!
CBS has an Agenda!
This entire article is so stupid because it's a slam-dunk that these documents are forgeries. That's because they refer to a man named General Staudt as being actively involved in managing Bush's squadron, when in fact Staudt had already retired from the ANG at the time. The documents are certainly forgeries and CBS is just trying to limit damage to their credibility through lying and denial. In the long run, their lying about this incident may damage their credibility even more than an immedidate confession and apology.
Fine, CBS, provide any proof that Killian had one in his office and/or that he ever used one-- or knew how to use one.
The link you provided states that a "11-point Press Roman" font was used to type the comparison document on an IBM Selectric Composer. At least one typography expert on FR has stated that the font in the CBS pdfs is NOT a Roman type font.
No, it is not. For example, with kerning the space between letters Y and A in the string "CYA" (included in one of the documents) would be reduced. This reduction can NOT be seen on the CBS pdf with the "CYA" string. To see what kerning does, type "CYA" in MS Word and turn kerning on from the font properties.
Better check their hard drives.
