Bush and I were Lieutenants
The Washington Times ^ | Feb. 11, 2004 | Col. William Campenni

Posted on 09/10/2004 9:25:09 PM PDT by PokeyJoe

George Bush and I were lieutenants and pilots in the 111th Fighter Interceptor Squadron (FIS), Texas Air National Guard (ANG) from 1970 to 1971. We had the same flight and squadron commanders (Maj. William Harris and Lt. Col. Jerry Killian, both now deceased). While we were not part of the same social circle outside the base, we were in the same fraternity of fighter pilots, and proudly wore the same squadron patch.

The CBS producers were the same ones who broke Abu Ghraib on a Wednesday 60 minutes show.

Where did they get the Abu Ghraib photos?

Same source?

Do I detect a faint wiff of "motive" in a sinister criminal conspiracy with intent to cause harm to the President of the United States?

Motive and Intent can be shown.

I say that the FBI should investigate CBS for criminal conspiracy, and seek out the "source" of the fabricated memos. When found, they should be sent to Gitmo as enemy combatants.

I was thinking more about this forged document story and trying to come up with a theory of my own. Some have said that Karl Rove set them up, which may be plausible, but one name no one has mentioned, is George Soros. If there's anyone who hates President Bush with a passion and wants to cause harm in the process, it would be Soros.

Does this guy own a 1972 Microsoft Word Processor? How about a Windows 73 compatable laser printer?

... Karl Rove? Naaa... He doesn't need to make up crap when he's 11 points ahead. He's not that stupid... plus, he's a tad bit more ethical than Dan Blather's 60 Minutes producers.

That's my point. The source passed the information to CBS after being duped.... the same source who passed the Abu Gharaib photos.

I don't think it was Carl Rove.

It might be the CIA trying to smoke the leak. (plausable speculaiton)

Or.... it was just a dumb democrat. No shortage there.

Let's not forget their Skull and Bone piece...

Hosted nicely for them on IndyMedia

IndyMedia that has this on their webpage, but don't believe it. It is a April Fools joke. ::coughs::

http://www.indymedia.org/en/2004/03/110687.shtml

Indymedia.org team in merger talks with CBS/Viacom
George Soros, CEO of Indymedia.org ltd has begun merger talks with the CBS/Viacom News Network to help bring together the Vibrant Staff of the Independant News Network with the resources and Global Consumer Reach of the CBS news network. This follows a meeting of the IMC Board of Directors and key Indymedia shareholders where it was decided that Indymedia needed to branch out from its traditional Liberal readership demographic to encompass more mainstream news interests and readerships....

Current scoreboard:

Everyone who served with Bush says he was a credit to his unit, and they're proud to say they served with him.

Just about everyone who served with Kerry says he was a discredit to his unit, wanted him out of their unit ASAP, and managed to get him transferred home.

I personally don't think it's a setup by Karl Rove, myself. I just found a lot of humor in that speculation and hope some Democrat says that famed phrase "the b**** set me up!".

hehehe.... yeah.... I hear ya. Personally, it would be mo' funny if Barbara Bush (41) was the mastermind. Then the phrase would have meaning when coming out of Dan Blather's mouth. and.... then she says, "Payback is a B****".... remember Dan Blather's "interview" of her husband, then VP? Dan Blather is almost as bad as Bill O'Really. =)

Occam's razor says dumb democrat, but the CIA "smoking out the leak" theory is interesting.

Plus it would be more plausible to dumb democrats.

This guy just buried all doubt yet again. How many times can a story get debunked and then rehashed? I thinks this will be the last time.

Everyone who served with Bush says he was a credit to his unit, and they're proud to say they served with him.

Except the dead ones. There's something about being dead that turns people into partisan Democrat Operatives. My dead grandfather from Chicago has been voting for Democrats ever since his death.

I have read this before. It is the answer to all the spurious charges about Pres. Bush's ANG service. If the MSM had on scintilla of integrity this would be published and referred to every time the AWOL charge resurfaces. Col. Campenni would be interviewed on every show and the tape replayed.

In fact if this had been done in the first place these charges would not resurface. The very least journalistic effort would have brought Campenni or someone like him to light long ago.

The MSM is, and has been, morally and ethically bankrupt for years. Dump them, scorn them, laugh at the very mention of them.

Karl Rove could feed them false docs all day long. It remains the responsibility of the network to check it out before they put it on TV.

They did check them out. They had sufficient information to debunk them, but ran the story anyhow thinking "nobody will question us. We are 60 Minutes."

They are now merely using the CBS Legal Department's formal response (preponderance of evidence is a very precise legal term in libel law) so that they don't wind up in a lawsuit.
