The conservative MoveOnForAmerica.org plans to blast battleground states with anti-John Kerry ads until Election Day.
"MoveOnForAmerica.org was created due to the Bush campaign's largely inept attack ads against Mr. Kerry," its site says.
He said his group has already raised $200,000 and aims to surpass $1 million by the election.
"We'll hopefully be successful like the Swift boat people," Marks said, referring to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, a 527 organization whose ads have questioned Kerry's service in Vietnam.

I can do without this group, its mildly racist slaMildly racist? The 2 ads both seem pretty racially divisive to me.

The backer of this new "conservative" group, Stephen Marks, is a former writer for Penthouse, too... Lovely. Soon we'll find out their treasurer worked for Larry Flynt.

He isn't criticising Sharpton because he is black, he is criticising him for his stand on issues and actions. Who cares what Sharpton said? He 'aint the candidate! Too tangential to be effective. Now Swiftie #2...THAT'S effective...down to your soul.

I agree, they will do more harm than good.

This group impresses me as a democrat Trojan Horse. I've been laughing at the punditry for wringing their hands about GOP attacks and their dire warnings of backfire, but I fear if these adds air that just might happen. The first add is unfair in that Kerry was acting in his capacity as a private counsel, and doing his job. The second will be painted as being racist. In fact they both will be painted as racist. The Ads have a kooky extremist feel, they use Hitler for gods sake. I pray these ads will never run.

Right. I don't think we should contribute to this group--even if the ads are good we should stick with what we know is effective--the Swift Vets...besides we don't want to stretch things too thin. There are two other GOP 527s which will be running ads in the last 60 days which are worthy of mention: Progress for America, www.pfa.org, and American Victory Fund, www.avfund.com. These both have serious people, good production partners and good seed money. I have contributed to Swifties and AVFund, and will likely give to PFA, although they havent run anything in a while.

Isn't it pretty amazing, that the Dems have to create a pretend-Republican 527, so they can attack it, and try to discredit the other 527-s, such as the SwiftVets, who are basically untouchable, because truth is on their side.
But I wouldn't put it past them.
And what nonsense is to call this MoveOnAmerica.

We are so adapt at sniffing out trolls on this board, that our skills enable us to smell phony 527 trolls too. ;)
Someone needs to point this out and check out the members and donors of this organization, to preempt them doing any damage.

Sure, actually I am a deep cover mole from the Kerry campaign, that's why I always post all those articles complimentary to Kerry. (/major sarcasm)

$200K won't go far. Swiftvets started with about that, but I don't see this group attracting anything close to the amount subsequently donated to the Swiftvets and, I hope, still being donated.
To: montag813
I would disagree with that. Probably unregistered.

"I see they have changed their wording since your post. "
I'll be darned. You are right. Now it says:
"MoveOnForAmerica.org was created due to the Bush campaigns largely timid ads against Mr. Kerry"
I guess they are really lurking and reading this.
OK -- to the MoveOnAmerica lurker(s):
IF you are for real, and you are really trying to help Bush, forget the two currently planned ads and do something relevant, grounded in the truth. Kerry is a fertile ground for that: make ads about his votes against our weapons systems, make ads about him voting to cut intelligence funding, make an ad about how he never mentioned terrorism once, in his Springfield, Ohio speech, make ads about his taking money from the Red Chinese, and be sure even the tiniest accusations are fully factually verifiable.
IF, on the other hand, you really are an arm of MoveOn, trying to discredit the Republicans, you will be exposed, so you might as well just fade away now.
Republicans are in a fighting mood and we will not tolerate your attempts of trying to smear Republicans in this most underhanded way.

You better watch it, or I do a Zell on you, the way he did with Chris Matthews. You are lucky I am not right there and that people don't do duels anymore. ;)
