Kerry was typing his request for time off on the wrong form. really. just a simple oversight. The "V" was code for requested vacation time. just a typo. nothing to see, no further questions. move along now. Does anyone have the Kerry quote about Admiral Borda committing suicide?

The military doesn't get vacation time. On a DD214, the closest you get is TERMINAL LEAVE. But it has its' own block, nowhere near the "remarks" area where decorations and training are listed.

And since when do you type up your own DD214: the Personnel Office at whatever base you're being discharged at does that. After all, the DD214 is a legal record. . .
