Bush Offers Best Wishes for Clinton (Liberal bias shows again)
AP via Yahoo ^

WEST ALLIS, Wis. - President Bush (news - web sites) on Friday wished Bill Clinton (news - web sites) "best wishes for a swift and speedy recovery."

"He's is in our thoughts and prayers," Bush said at a campaign rally.

Bush's audience of thousands in West Allis, Wis., booed. Bush did nothing to stop them.

Bush offered his wishes while campaigning one day after accepting the presidential nomination at the Republican National Convention in New York. Clinton was hospitalized in New York after complaining of mild chest pain and shortness of breath.

Bush recently praised Clinton when the former president went to the White House for the unveiling of his official portrait. He lauded Clinton for his knowledge, compassion and "the forward-looking spirit that Americans like in a president."

I hope that people could be sensible and not actually boo when President Bush gives Clinton his best wishes when the guy is facing heart surgery. But without being there or seeing it, I don't know for sure. Of course the AP would mention it, and then mention that Bush did nothing to stop it.

This is no longer a free press. This is a press bought and paid for by the Democratic party.

I saw the remarks on FOX and the crowd applauded and supported Bush's words. Pure class.

I'm not even sure they boo'd. I heard the clip at the top of the hour and it sounded more like a reaction of surprise at the news. I didn't hear any loud boos.

President Bush should have had the Secret Service spray autofire over their heads?

And the Democrats didn't stop the protesters in NYC this week either. A few boos, and I'll bet there were very few, are just as much an example of freedom of speech as the vile things I say and heard from the filthy folk protesting Bush.

There is a bit more to this statement than meets the eye. Replace it with

The Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ran their ads. Bush did nothing to stop them.

A subtle Dem talking point reinforcement courtesy of the AP.

All I can say is that maybe now the Left will stop their insensitive remarks about Dick Cheney's heart problems. One can hope can't one?

What the hell? I watched it live and I heard no boos; I saw a respectful round of applause and cheers.

Maybe if there were boos, Bush didn't even hear them? Just like at first he didn't know there was a commotion from a protester inside the Garden and kept going with his speech while the delegates were shouting "Four more years"

Then contact the Associated Press and tell them to stop putting lies out on the wire.

AP: The Kerry campaign just filed a complaint with the FEC to prevent the audience at Bush's campaign rally to stop the illegal and partisan attacks against the greatest President there ever was. Mr. Bush did nothing to prevent the complaint but also did not specifically denounce the "booing".

This is only the beginning. The press is actually going to start outright lying in articles.

There's already a bunch of lies plastered in AP articles. Provable lies. Not spin.

I haerd a clip on the radio news. I heard NO booing. I would assume, even without hearing that clip, that the AP story contains at least gross exaggeration, and perhaps outright fabrications.

Lying press should be ashamed of themselves. (Whether or not they did in this case, I have no idea...)

What utter poppycock.....like others who have already responded I heard it live and this is nothing more than media spin.

Sort of like the media claiming her Heinous was received with a standing O instead of the boos at the MTV tribute to 9/11.

If people did boo (and those would be in the vast, vast minority), then short of Bush going into the audience with a roll of duct tape, how was he supposed to stop them? Every so often, people suck and react inappropriately - how that's Bush's fault is hard to fathom.

I would think even the stupidest people in the MSM could extrapolate this into a "the protesters booed Bush during his speech and Kerry did nothing to stop them," kind of thing. But then again, that doesn't fit their agenda, so maybe not.
