Veep's close encounters (2nd Protester Approaches VP Cheney)
New York Daily News ^ | 9/01/04 | ROBERT GEARTY and GREG GITTRICH

Protesters got upclose and personal with Vice President Cheney at Madison Square Garden for the past two nights.

Medea Benjamin, 51, of the peace group Code Pink, said she unveiled a banner near Cheney that read "Be Pro Life, Stop the Killing in Iraq" last night.

Benjamin, of San Francisco, said she borrowed "a friend of a friend's" floor pass to gain access to the Garden.

She said the veep forced a smile as she yelled, "Mr. Cheney, how much money did Halliburton make in Iraq?"

Security staff then tackled her to the floor and took her to a basement room for questioning, first by NYPD detectives and then by the Secret Service.

She was released two hours later.

"Aside from being pushed to the ground, they were quite nice," Benjamin said. "It's nice that they distinguish that people who are committed to nonviolence are not a threat."

On Monday, a straight-A Yale University student - the son of a former Clinton administration official - used a GOP volunteer's shirt and a "Bush-Cheney '04" placard to slip by a small army of federal agents scouring the famed arena, officials said.

Yelling anti-war slogans, Thomas Frampton, 21, got within 10 feet of Cheney before being grabbed and wrestled to the ground by a Secret Service agent about 9:15 p.m. Monday.

Officials said Frampton was unarmed and Cheney was never in any danger. But they said Frampton only had credentials issued to volunteers who work outside the Garden and should not have been allowed into the arena.

There was no immediate comment from his father, George, a former assistant interior secretary and currently a partner at the Washington law firm of David Boies, who represented Al Gore during the fight over the 2000 Florida presidential results. Thomas Frampton's grandfather was New York hotel mogul Milton Kimmelman.

The Yalie rabble-rouser was arraigned in Manhattan Federal Court yesterday afternoon on misdemeanor charges of assaulting federal officers and impeding the operation of the Secret Service. He was released on $50,000 bond and ordered to steer clear of the convention.

"This defendant went through quite elaborate steps to gain access to Madison Square Garden," said Assistant U.S. Attorney John Hillebrecht.

His father is a partner of Boies. This guy has serious connections. Looks like he's trying to make a name for himself.

Aren't there any PT or Swift boats in Iraq? Perhaps the infantry is "beneath" him?

I hope the person who passed their floor pass off to another has been bounced from all future admittance.

Code Pink wacko Medea Benjamin got thrown off the floor of the DNC too, for unfurling a banner that said "End the Occupation of Iraq" during Teresa Kerry's speech. At least she's consistent. But you'd think RNC security would know who she was and try to stop her from getting on the floor in the first place.

As for the loser Yalie with Clinton ties, why hasn't Kerry condemned his tactics? His dad has given to an environmental PAC and the maximum amount allowed to Kerry:

Medea Benjamin was arrested at the Fox News protest. Why wasn't she locked up longer? I hope she's rotting in a jail cell now.

Sometimes this seems to be the problem of intellectuals when their head is full of things.

I want to know why Medea Benjamin's butt is not in jail. Frampton was jailed and has a $50K bond and Benjamin walks. I don't get it.

"It's nice that they distinguish that people who are committed to nonviolence are not a threat."

They're committed to nonviolence only when it's not a totalitarian dictator administering it.

I suppose if I were to suspect some of these usefull idiots of running probing "dry runs" for Islammonazis to see if and how they can get an Islammokazi human bomb to within the kill radius of a member of the Executive Branch by various means of deception, I'd be considered "paranoid".

I'd imagine that ten feet would be a sure kill for any walking Islammobomb. And the success of these "test runners" in getting within range of target has been duly noted by their Middle-Eastern handlers.

Now you may not think that peaceniks and Jihaddists are working as a team here, despite their common goals of regeme change in America - one way or another.

But I'm taking the liberty of assuming that to some extent, at least, they probably are.

How many of these "demonstrators" are going to mourn the untimely demise of our President, should they be successful in arranging same this week?

I rather assume that there would be instead, one hell of a celibratory party, not only in the streets NYC but in Najef, Pallestine, and Fajulla as well.

So the President is going to be at the Convention tomorrow (Thurs.) eh?

Being as paranoid as I am, I'm pretty sure that the bomb-belt and forged or stolen pass is ready to go and the willing human ordnance delivery system (should I be using the plural here?) has already made his or her obligatory parting home-video with the Kuran, M-16, green head scarf and all of that.

He (or she)is no doubt planning on being a big hero for Jihhad when he (or she) gets to Allah's LallaLand.

Remember that as far as Islam is concerned, CHILDREN are merely ordnance delivery systems as well. And we all know how "W" loves kids, don't we?
Don't think for a minute that Jihaddistan dosen't know it too.

Credentials and costumes/uniforms have now been proven to be "borrowable" (stealable), and the peaceniks have graciously demonstrated their effectiveness in penetrating security to within reliable kill radius of their human "targets" by body-borne ordnance.

Probing mission by useful infidel idiots accomplished, I'd say.

Hopes and prayers that no such weapons of the enemy crafted against our legitimate Leadership will prosper, and that someone gets to these IslammoKazis before they get to our President or anyone else on their hitlist.

I, for one, will be blessedly surprised if they do not at least try it - and tomorrow will likely be the day.

Hmmmm... I wonder if M. MOORE is going to want to "meet the President" and shake his hand tomorrow?

Gesture of reconcilliation, and all that...

How much C-4 could one conceal between all those rolls of fat, I wonder? Would surgically implanted HE be detectable by normal means?

Would an American leftist hate the President THAT much?

I'm just full of questions today, ain't I?

Another thing to remember; John Wilkes Booth got to Lincoln past his security detail because he was known, and trusted, by the Great Emancipator - who was a fan of his acting despite Booth's secessionist and racist opinions.

You know how History has a way of repeating itself if we fail to learn from it?

Selah'.

"Hedge of Protection" for Deligates, Security, and especially the 1st & 2nd Families.
Same goes for all ye "FReepers" out there.

Amen.

UJ
