The were arresting the guy that lit puff the liberal dragon on fire. Apparently, they had hidden smoke bombs, ball bearings, and other anarchist paraphernalia in the hollow handles they were using for their signs... The NYPD were arresting the guy that lit the fire, and they encircled the cops and began throwing bottles, ball bearings, etc at the cops. After the melee three police officers were wounded - one was burned...
The local media skipped the story, I guess they have the same standards that they apply to TROP for TPOP.

Hurting NYPD cops is NOT a wise thing to do and the ones who did it are NOT going to be let out soon.I hope they enjoy their stay in the Tombs or Rikers. :-)

The dragon burning was not in front of Macy's, though. It was on Seventh Avenue between 33rd and 34th. (NY Sun reported that it was between 32nd and 33rd but they were wrong.)
The Herald Square incident was different. I thought it was Protest Warriors getting beaten on with signs. Didn't see a cop getting beaten or taken away.

Ball bearings were for the horses.
They use them to toss under them and hope the horses break their legs.
Wonder where PETA is on this.
Disgusting.
