Sen. John McCain , (R-Ariz) and Time magazines Karen Tumulty joined Face The Nation from New York, the site of the Republican National Convention.( Read the transcript here in PDF format)
(excerpt) When asked by Tumulty if Kerry's post-war activities made him less fit to be commander-in-chief, McCain said, "Every American is entitled to protest the policies of their government. That's a sacred right of ours. Now whether John did that appropriately or correctly,I think,is a legitimate debate and discussion."

PING
While I don't like McCain telling us what we are and are not allowed to debate, he has certainly signaled that there is no end in sight for the brutal Swifty beatdown on Kerry...
I love it!
LOL!
Now what does the MSM do? After conferring upon McCain the title of "Grand Arbiter of Politics" when he criticized the first ad, how will they discredit him now? This campaign is getting more fun as we move forward. I may have to pop some popcorn.
I think this is where the SwiftBoat Vets will go next.
Debatable!.....Debatable!
Of all people, McCain should have know the correct word was DISPECABLE...
Semper Fi
Geez, you think, John?
I think we should get John Kerry, John Edwards, John McCain and John O'Neill all together in a debate. Everyone, even the moderator, must refer to everyone by first name only. All debaters are blindfolded so they don't know which John sits where with respect to themselves.
John McCain is a riddle wrap in a conundrum.
Ms Tumulty : Did John Kerry ask for this by making his entire convention about something that happened 35 years ago ?
Sen McCain : You know Karen, I'm sure it opened the door for it and made it MUCH MORE LEGITIMATE TO QUESTION HIS SERVICE.
Finally.A McCain soundbite that makes sense.
John McCain now says that it's legitimate to question Kerry's service . Spread the word.
Take that Begala and Carville !
McCain goes on to say that Kerry called him yesterday, but, " didn't ask for anything."
Sounds like McCain is used to Kerry calling and asking for something.
Thank you Saint John! I can now sleep easy.
McCain needs to wear some sort of crown or Pope like hat, to reflect his position of determining what people can and can't say. Must be a cool job to be the Pope of Politics.

John McCain never sticks his neck out politically and never does anything that will put him at odds with the MSM.
My bet is he has some inside info from the Department of the Navy of what's really on the records. He's giving the MSM a tipoff: The jig is up!
King John has granted a dispensation to the Swift Boat Vets to continue discussing Kerry's political activities after he came home from Vietnam -- how noble, nay how royal of McCain.
He's got some bipolar mental problem like Kerry.
Multiple personalities-something like that.
"no end in sight . . ."
As if he'd know.
As Peter Sellers would say; "It's coming back to know"!
