Excellent, thanks! Bookmarked.
**FYI**
This applies to civilians as well as military, right? Is the punishment worse for military? Worse than death . . .
I wasn't there, but I believe it is considered serving in VN, just not in-country. Not sure, ask Tonk above.
BTT save for later
Oops, 68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub isn't on this thread.
I'd expect he played Captain Queeg
Did anyone from CCI cross paths with Kerry in Nov 69?
check out http://www.sportsmenforkerryedwards.com/fitrep_analysis.htm for timeline detail while in the Navy. Note that his discharge date was January 3, 1970 - not March 1, 1970 as the form specifies day-month-year and not month-day-year.
Thanks. I admit that the dates are confusing. Of course, that's why I attempted to put them in order.
BTTT
Good job. I just read in a thread on FR yesterday that Kerry enlisted in the Naval Reserves, not the Navy when he was refused a student deferrment. He figured he would avoid combat duty that way.
Thanks, that page is extremely important.
Impressive work! Now can anyone pinpoint the exact date that Kerry's boat hit the mine that propelled VC through the air landing safely on the deck of one of the other swiftboats?
Wow, beautifully done! I had started jotting some of this timeline myself trying to keep track of his contradictory stories. Your version is wonderful and what a huge help it will be for all of us!
I just found one teeny thing you might want to change... just a matter of some missing zeroes ;-)
"Theresa's personal wealth is estimated to be in excess of $500,000." I think that should be $500,000,000...
I don't know if this will help... kathy4500 put together a great list of Kerry's "heroic" (cough) activities while in Vietnam from items at his site and I bookmarked it because it looked like a terrific resource.

PH#2 Action to Application = 13 days
Application to Award = 148 days
PH#3 Action to Application = 25 days Action to thrice wounded application = 4 days

NOTES:
1. His anti-war testimony days need to be added. He was still under service oath.
2. It took him 88 days to figure out how to get the first PH.
3. He filed the thrice wounded application 4 days after the third wound and did not apply for the PH until 21 days later, at which time he was gone.
Please note this information:
Kerry was transfered to Standby Reserve on 7/1/72. Between his release from Active duty and transfer to the Standby Reserve, he should have been attending Naval reserve drills. Once transfered to Standby reserve, he is pretty much considered a civilian again.
March 28, 1969 -- Kerry starts 10 day leave (from Leave Reports pdf file on Kerry campaign website.)
Organizing Veterans Through War Crimes Documentation
During the summer of 1970 we were approached by Al Hubbard who had become a full-time organizer with Vietnam Veterans Against the War. Al proposed that CCI join forces with Jane Fonda, Mark Lane, Rev. Dick Fernandez of CALC, and Donald Duncan (the Green Beret who had testified at the Russell Tribunal in Denmark).
August, 1970 -- Al Hubbard asks Tod Ensign and Jeremy Rifkin of the CCI to join with the VVAW, the Reverend Dick Fernandez of Clergy and Laymen Concerned about Vietnam (CALCAV), Jane Fonda, Mark Lane and others to organize national hearings on war crimes.
Interesting. Where did you get the information on the timing of the PH applications?
