Need Freeper Help! DUers are investigating Bush's photo!

They are saying that George W. Bush is wearing an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award and a Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, however, on line 24 of his ARG22 National Guard discharge form, George W. Bush has NO awards listed. They are trying to get payback for Kerry. Can Freepers debunk this? They have sent it to some media outlets and have e-mailed the air force and so far the air force has sent them info that agrees with what they are trying to spew forth.

Here is the picture:

They're trying to discredit Bush because he got more awards than he says he did?????

Desperation to the nth degree...

On a side note, I was lurking at DU last night and one of the DUmmies noted that "if this election is a landslide, it won't be Kerry's. As much as I hate to say it, it is more likely Bush will win in a landslide."

They know they're losing folks!

He found them on some steps. Apparently some other people decided they didn't want them.

Wait a minute. Marksmanship ribbon? To my knowlege, there is no ribbon that goes with a marksmanship award. At least there wasn't when I was in the Corps.

Will have to look back and find it, but there was another post a while ago that showed Bush had recieved the Small arms ribbon.

As for the AFOUA, it is easy to find out if his unit was awarded it; BUT here is a big catch - LISTEN DUmmies - YOU ARE AUTHORIZED TO WEAR ALL AFOUA YOUR UNIT HAS BEEN AWARDED (even if you were not there) WHILE YOU ARE ASSIGNED TO THAT UNIT. So, if his unit had an AFOUA in the past, he could wear that ribbon while assigned.

Yes, there was much gnashing of the teeth last night. Can't wait to lurk on their site on Election Day. Knock on wood.

IRRC:
The Outstanding Unit Citation is not an individual award.
If the unit you are assigned to has been awarded one you are authorized to wear it while you are with that unit.

It's probably my inherent cynicism peeking out, but that picture doesn't look right to me. Some of the hardware looks a little odd, has some weird shading.

What was it Dole just said to John Kerry, "Everyone loves a quiet hero, John." I love that statement.

Someone with a DU acct go over there and post that it is an AWOL award. A few should start urinating on themselves.

i'd normally say that the girls of du are at it again, but since they're all at work supporting their slovenly boyfriends, it must be xxxlinton behind it

LOL. This is a stupid move on their part. I'm sure the complete record of Bush shows what he earned, and the media has ALL of Bush's records.

Bush should tell the media to do their homework, and report back.

For the Swiftees, this action shows that the media is more interested in questioning Bush's record, and at the same time, is derelict by not investigating Kerry's record. Heck, they don't even call on Kerry to produce his record. Another chink in the mantle of credibility.

Typical rat tactic--if you can't defend the charges, go on the attack. George W. Bush has not made the Viet Nam War the centerpiece of his campaign. He has an actual resume of three years of fighting terror. Kerry was in active service in Viet Nam for a few months and got three scratches which he petitioned into purple hearts. Kerry was in the Senate for 19 years and his only strong efforts were to reduce our intelligence budget, redline all of our weapons programs, and ignore true heroes who were POW's or MIA. A real man!

The Air Force only gives ribbons for marksmanship, not badges.

I had one: it wasn't reflected on MY DD214 either. Nor was my AF Outstanding Unit Award, or my Short Tour Overseas Ribbon.

USAF DD 214s generally only list individual decorations, not unit awards or proficency awards. My SAC "Combat Crew" badge isn't on it either, just my Combat Readiness Medal and my Air Force Commendation Medal. . .

Your first mistake is:
1) You read du.
Second mistake ?
2) you read more du.
third mistake ?
3) you forward du content
What's up with that ?

IMHO, as evidenced by John F. Kerry,

THE NUMBER OF RIBBONS DOES NOT EQUATE TO A GREAT LEADER!

I'd rather have gold stars on my Sunday School record, and be able to sleep soundly at night knowing that I am staying the course!
