This is precisely the kind of tactic that might work against a group of limp-wristed professional political hacks or talking heads, but I don't think a bunch of Vietnam vets -- especially those who spent several years in POW camps -- are going to be scared off by this.

I agree with you on both points. This information was leaked in order to scare the Swifties, and it won't work.
