Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but Ashcroft has yet to support the Second Amendment with anything other than lip service.

Your wrong. John Ashcroft is doing what an Attorney General should do, enforce the laws, not politically echo change of law.
Then why did the list include mention of Ashcroft's name as something positive for gun rights?

True, but if the laws are not Constitutional, it is his job to take them in front of the courts.
